It's important to test the pH when using pH UP. pH should be raised no more than 0.5 units every 24 hours. Do no treat the pond more than once every 24 hours. Plants and algae cause a temporary increase in pH in the afternoon, therefore, pH should be tested in the morning to obtain the lowest reading. For ornamental pond use only.
Test the pH level of the pond water with an API POND WIDE RANGE PH TEST KIT. Using the dosing cap on the bottle, add 10 ml (2 tsp.) of pH up for each 50 U.S. gallons (190 L) of pond water. For best results, add to water flow. Wait 24 hours, then test pH again. Repeat treatment as necessary. Tip: pH UP works by slowly neutralizing acidic substances that cause low pH in pond water.
