Description

Feed your algae-eating fish a protein-rich diet scientifically formulated to promote healthy growth and cleaner, clearer water with API Optimal Protein Algae Eater Sinking Wafers. This complete and balanced diet is ideal for Plecostomus, Ancistrus, Otocinclus and other algae-eating fish. It contains nutritionally-enhanced protein, a rich blend of algae, omega-3 fatty acids and alfalfa for maximum digestion and produces up to 30% less ammonia. The more nutrients your fish digests, the less waste and ammonia are released, resulting in cleaner and clearer water. Feed up to twice a day, and provide only as much as your fish will eat within two hours.

Key Benefits
  • Complete and balanced diet for all algae-eating fish including Plecostomus, Ancistrus and Otociclus.
  • Produces up to 30% less ammonia than competitors. Comes in sinking wafer form.
  • Contains rich blend of algae and omega-3 fatty acids plus alfalfa, a good source of fiber.
  • Yeast, garlic, vitamins C and E help support the immune system.
  • Highly digestible recipe helps reduce waste for cleaner, clearer water.
Precautions

Overfeeding, low palatability, and low quality lead to unconsumed or poorly digested food, which raises the ammonia level in the aquarium, causing cloudy water and even fish death.

    Change In Quality

    By on

I used to purchase the smaller bottle of this for my pleco and it was great. It sunk to the bottom and was a bigger wafer. I liked them so much I bought the larger size bottle, and I notified a significant quality change. Thinner pellets that refused to sink. My goldfish always eat them before my pleco can. Not sure why the larger size had a quality difference.

Albino algae eaters eat em up quick

    By on

It's nice that they float to the bottom of the tank. I put one of these in every weekend just to add a little extra to their diet. They are always gone within the day.

    Get the job done

    By on

As advertised, they drop rite to the bottom where they need to be. These wafers don't just deteriorate, it slowly happens over time. I use these as a, "just in case" to make sure my Plecostomus, Red Lobster, Rabbit Snail, Singapore Flower Shrimp get enough to eat. Even my koi and gold fish with give it a nibble. The price is rite, and a container lasts a while. I will continue to purchase this brand, and type of algea wafer for my tank.
