IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

Do not use Apoquel in dogs less than 12 months of age or those with serious infections. Apoquel may increase the chances of developing serious infections, and may cause existing parasitic skin infestations or pre-existing cancers to get worse. Consider the risks and benefits of treatment in dogs with a history of recurrence of these conditions. New neoplastic conditions (benign and malignant) were observed in clinical studies and post-approval. Apoquel has not been tested in dogs receiving some medications including some commonly used to treat skin conditions such as corticosteroids and cyclosporines. Do not use in breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs. Most common side effects are vomiting and diarrhea. Apoquel has been used safely with many common medications including parasiticides, antibiotics and vaccines. See full Prescribing Information.

The last medication my elderly dog will ever take

My 14 y/o Olde English Bulldogge, Zilla, has struggled with skin/stomach/eye/ear/paw issues for a majority of her adult life. After 10s of thousands of dollars spent on pet insurance, vet bills, and medications, it finally feels like I've found a real solution. It's not a cheap solution, but it's cheaper and actually works without going through the yo-yoing of putting her on antibiotics/steroids when things went from bad to worse and then running out and having her go back to being miserable. Apoquel has COMPLETELY resolved ALL of Zilla's skin issues. All of her neck and belly hair has grown back, her ears are no longer swollen/smelly/eminent infection (she can hear again!), and the space between the pads of her paws look like they did when she was a puppy. No more sneezing and her eyes are less red and irritated. The only side effect I've seen, other than all the positive ones, is dry mouth. I don't usually leave reviews but felt driven to share given the life changing effect it's had for my old girl. It's a no-brainer for me despite it's price--given her age and wanting to make the absolute most of her golden years.

Beware when ordering, get more than 1.

Ordering is convenient, saving a trip to the vets office. Chewy contacts the vet to approve the script. Price isn't great but I guess it compares favorably to the vets office. Beware, this pill is an everyday pill for dog allergies, I have no idea why Chewy has the default option being to order a single pill. I don't know why that option is there at all. Who would order a single capsule of an everyday pill? Chewy did notice the error and cancelled my single pill order. They sent an email to notify me of the fact but, since I don't check email that often, it made my dog go a few days without her allergy meds.

Allergies

This item has been a wonder. Our girl will lick her feet like crazy, full blown allergy irritation. This has alleviated it almost entirely - some days she needs an extra pill, if allergens are higher than normal, which we don't realize until she's already back at licking - but before we started using Apoquel, she would lick herself raw. Now that she uses Apoquel - which she's been taking for at least a couple of years now - she is so much better than she was without it.

Helps stop itching

My gunner is 4 years old and has the typical gsd dry and itchy skin throughout winter months. I found this to work very well however it’s definitely pricey. It does stop him from itching and licking throughout the day. I also have a hot spot spray. I have tried salmon oil on his food but he very picky. Beware that it is pill form. I smoosh cheese around it for him to eat it lol

Delivery issue

This is apparently how Chewys drivers deliver important medication? It was almost in the middle of my front yard, nowhere near my porch. This is expensive and important medication, what if it was damaged or stolen? So dissapointed. We love this medication, just wish there was better delivery

They work, at least for us

Was not happy about cost, but since Zoetis still has sole control will have to deal with that and be happy our semi-pug is no longer scratching himself raw. Hard to think of those who do not have the financial resources to make a comfortable decision. Chewy had competitive pricing and totally awesome service. This is my first order for a repeat scheduled order delivery , but expecting the same satisfaction as with other single orders for food, litter, etc over past years.

This was a godsend

My senior dog had a raw spot on her belly that she kept licking. She was losing fur on her belly in big patches. The vet tried Bravecto first, thinking it might be mites. Then ordered a thyroid test which came back normal. He gave her antibiotics along with an antifungal and Apoquel and it did the trick. Healed her completely and now she just has to take the Apoquel daily for maintenance. She remains allergy free and a very happy senior!

Best thing I’ve ever done for my dog!

Both of our basset hounds, have seasonal allergies, regular skin conditions, musky smell, itching, and shedding. I started this med to alleviate some deep fissures on one of my Bassets feet, but in the end, it cured all of her skin conditions. We started our other Bassett on it, and the same thing happened. This is an allergy medicine, and it did its job! However, our dogs also have ortho problems and arthritis. The medicine is also reported to have some auto immune effects, and we found this to be true as well! They are feeling better from allergies and arthritis. I would recommend and will continue to use!

Chewy delivery

Very happy with the speed and fulfillment of my order. I would like to add though that when I order a large bag of dog food, I am disappointed the delivery is left at my gate and not brought to the door. This is not a chewy problem but a delivery problem. When I am home alone it is hard to get such a heavy item to the door which cannot be left out in the Arizona sun until I can get help

Super Easy

My dog needs to take Apoquel during the spring and fall seasons for allergies that cause her to scratch really bad. I've tried benadryl and zyrtec which my vet recommended prior to using Apoquel. Unfortunately it seems like this is the only thing that works (pill wise). Using Chewy for prescriptions has made it super easy. I think it took like 4 days for everything to get finalized and the package to my doorstep. Now that the perscription is on file I'm sure reorders will be quick and painless.
