I purchased API Quick Start...do I still need to use this tap water conditioner along with Quick Start or just one is needed?
Quick Start should be added to dechlorinated water, otherwise the chlorine can harm the beneficial bacteria it contains, as well as the fish you are trying to keep. It is recommended to treat the water first with API Tap Water Conditioner before adding new water to the tank, to remove the chlorine a...more nd chloramines. The Quick Start would then be added directly to the aquarium. Quick Start contains only the live bacteria -- it does not contain a dechlorinator, so both are necessary for a happy and healthy aquarium.

what is the risk if I pour more of what I need ?
You can safely dose 2-3 times the directed amounts to neutralize higher levels of chlorine, or chloramines. If you accidentally add more treatment, a partial water change should be completed.

Can I treat the water with the fish in it? My GH levels are extremely high. Or should I do a partial water change and treat water before I add to tank.
While this product is safe for all aquatic and can be used in both fresh and salt water it's very concentrated so you will only need one teaspoon to treat 10 gallons. However, we recommend removing the fish prior to treatment to make sure they remain healthy.
