Does this come with a cord?
Answer by ChewyMar 15, 2019
This aquarium will need to be plugged in. The filter and the lighting have cords.

what size and brand name of filter
Answer by ChewyApr 14, 2020
This kit uses the Aqueon QuietFlow X-Small Filter Cartridge.

I got the mini globe starter kit from a pet store in my town approximately three months back. I need to replace the quiet flow filtration system because it stopped working. I can’t seem to find this item without buying the whole kit again. Thanks
Answer by ChewyMay 25, 2020
The Aqueon QuietFlow E Internal Power Filter is recommended for this kit. It is suitable for up to 3 gallons.

Does the filter go in the water and pull the water through the filter?
Answer by ChewyAug 12, 2019
This aquarium includes a low voltage internal filter with a carbon cartridge.

Tank is great but the Filter ain’t.

I’ve had 2 of these for 6 months now. It’s quite and the light with the set up looks great. My only gripe is the filter lasts about a week before you need to replace the cartridge. The water gets pretty frothy with the swirly film pretty quickly after a good tank cleaning. Which to me makes it seem like the filter isn’t doing much at all. They require a lot of cleaning and water change roughly every two weeks.

Sushi Approved

I feel like I robbed you Chewy. This aquarium is great and my Sushi loves it. I live in a tiny house and this is the perfect size. I can't believe the great price I got it for.

good start

I am currently using this for a tiny betta who looked like he was about to die. It’s currently okay but I plan to upgrade his housing once I know he’s okay. The filter is insanely powerful, so I’m afraid to use it cause it looks like he’s struggling to swim. I recommend only for small bettas until you can upgrade or as a last resort.

Too small for a fish

For people who are new to fish keeping please do NOT buy this take for your fish that you choose to put in there will not be happy and you should do the research on how to take care of that specific species before buying it for no reason because even though fish keeping may be an expensive hobby it can pay off and have way more enjoyment with the hobby if you buy a bigger tank I would reccoment at least a five-gallon for a betta and more for anything else since you will have a lot more fun with the hobby.

Filter stopped within two weeks

My filter stopped working randomly. I don’t believe it was user error, I’ve had different sized tanks and know how to take care of a tank filter and assess motor issues. I didn’t run it dry, and it wasn’t clogged. Also, the lid (the overall lid that covers the entire top of the tank) was warped in-package, and will not sit correctly on the tank.

betta tank

I removed the included light and used the opening to put an aquaponic plant in. My fist enjoyed the plant roots and both plant and fish are doing well. I rinse the cartridge every week or so when I do water changes to prolong the cartridge life.

Great aquarium for bettas

Great fish tank for my betta, highly recommend. For a hospital tank, something to hold fry in, or a betta tank. Well worth the money. Waiting to buy another one
