I already have this filter I just have no clue where to find more fliter pads that fit. Do you know what these filters take or something that fits?

These filters are compatible with the Aqueon QuietFlow Filter Cartridges. The 3 gallon filter is compatible with the Aqueon QuietFlow X-Small Filter Cartridges, the 10 gallon is suitable for use with the Aqueon QuietFlow Small Replacement Filter Cartridges, the 20 gallon is compatible with the Aqueon QuietFlow Medium Replacement Filter Cartridges, and the 40 gallon filter is compatible with the Aqueon QuietFlow Large Replacement Filter Cartridges.
would this work for a turtle ?

This filter is compatible with turtle aquariums.
How far down does the top of the filter opening have to go into the water?. I’m concerned about the cord getting wet.

It is recommended to fill tank with water to 1-inch from top of tank's edge. The filter would hang directly from the edge of the tank.

Perfect for my turtle tank

I use two of these filters in my turtle tank, one on each end. I like that they have a large open compartment so that I can use whatever media I choose. It comes with four suction cups, but Bob likes to mess with things a lot, so as a backup, I used a small rope or cord through the two holes and hang it on a hook I bought so it doesn't end up as a toy on the bottom of the tank. The motor and all is pretty easy to clean. About once a month or so I will take the filters to the bathtub for a cleaning. This has a screw on cap to the filter which catches a lot of gunk, and it's easy to unscrew and clean off. I use a bottle brush to clean the inside of the filter as well as a rag. I'm very happy with these filters. Any filter than can keep up with my adult RES turtle (Bob) deserves five stars!

Not Ideal for a 10 gallon tank

I wouldn't recommend for a 10 gallon tank. It pushes a currant but it's small.

Great filter

This filter cleans the water and doesn't have a strong current. My neons are so comfortable. I highly recommend it.
