From a health point of view, protein levels need to be lower in senior dogs and cats. The dried poultry liver flavor was used to increase palatability and keep the protein levels low. Susan Weiss recommended reviewing senior pet foods and you’ll notice a lower protein level. The ingredient is listed as “dried poultry liver flavor” on the ingredient panel because that is the AAFCO definition and we must list ingredients exactly as AAFCO rules.
Didn't think these would do anything because nothing seems to work on my pup but I was desperate and at my witts end with the sundowners and cognitive decline of my 14 year old boy. They have made a significant improvement in his behaviors I can't believe it. He's 55lbs and I give 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening two hours before the sundowners starts. He seems more comfortable overall, his tail is starting to wag again, he recognizes me more, less panting and pacing episodes (especially throughout the night), less compulsive licking of the carpet for minutes at a time, less anxious overall! So glad I tried them, poor boy finally has some relief (and so do I!)
My dog would get manic at night(sundowners). She would try to climb tables, walls and anything else she could get to. When she wasn’t doing that she would pace and whine. We got very little sleep. CBD oil helped for a little while but not enough. When I found these I stared her on three a day(she’s 16 lb). They started working for her within a few days. Now we have our baby back. So thankful this worked! Delivery with Chewy is excellent
They are small and heart-shaped, which is good. Al enjoys them, 2 a day. He has good days and bad days, but these help. He is 15.
This supplement seems to be working . . . I can notice a difference in some areas. I break it up and mix it in with her food at dinner. Pleased I found this.
This product works well for my 16 year old dachshund who is having signs of dementia about a yr ago (constant barking, looking around lost and even more aggressive) .. wish I would of known sooner but started her since Dec and now I can tell the difference.. it took about a month or a-little over to see any changes. I have to hide the chews in a pocket pill or other soft food since she will not eat just the chews but I’m happy it’s helping her.
I got these for our older boy, I honestly didn’t notice any difference at all. I will say that he enjoyed the taste of them - but I’ll skip ordering these again.
She tried them once and snubs her nose at them. Apparently, she didn't like them. She seems to know when treats have an ulterior motive.
My senior dog loves these. Even tho he can't hardly chew, these bits are soft enough for him!
I actually think this might work if you start your pup on it sooner than later. Unfortunately, I fall into the latter category. I didn't find out about this supplement until Roofus was already showing strong signs of doggy dementia. But after only a month on Brain's Best Friend, I can see some cognitive improvement. I'm going to start my young seniors on it now before they start showing signs of decline.
I don’t know how well these worked because unfortunately it gave my 3 pound Chihuahua diarrhea, really bad after just one treat, tried it one more time with only half a treat just to be sure it was the treat and it was.
