This litter is made with ultra-absorbent diatomaceous earth, which is lower in density than their regular clumping litter, but works fast to quickly absorb wetness and odors the minute the cat uses the litter box.

Please avoid this litter

I have to large male cats who are on the older side. They have never had a problem with using the litter box, or had accidents outside of it. I've been using Arm & Hammer Litter for most of their lives because I've found it's the best overall. I decided to give this new formula a try, and really regret it. Because I've got more than one litter box, and it's hard to tell which cat is using it when, and one is in the basement, I didn't notice until weeks later that one of my cats was not using the litter box. He'd jump in and then out, but I feel like he was just checking that it was this same terrible litter. He wasn't actually doing his business in there. Instead, he was going into a dark corner of the basement and going on the floor. I noticed that they seemed to be covered in sandy-colored dust, and it almost seemed to be drying out their fur too. Just looking at the front of the box, that desert picture is pretty accurate. One day I followed the smell to the corner of the basement and saw that terrible mess my cat had been leaving for me. I immediately changed litters, and he started using it again. However, he started to have problems with urinating, and I started finding little bits of urine spots on furniture. He was eating and drinking fine. He was licking his privates more and more, and one day I heard him let out a yowl when he was trying to pee. I took him to the vet, and they did x-rays and found that he had bladder stones all the way into his urethra and pen!s. They said he was very lucky that he wasn't completely blocked. They had to do emergency surgery, which cost over $3000. I have never had a cat with this problem before or since, and I've had cats my whole life. The only time was during and after using this litter, and I only bought one box. Please do yourself and your cat a favor, and don't get this litter. I don't even know why this formula is still on the shelves. I don't know anyone who has liked it, and my cats sure hate it.

Do not use this product

This new "light" litter is horrible. It tracks throughout the house. I sweep the floor after I tend to the boxes. I was beginning to wonder if I was sweeping up more product than was in the catbox.

Life saver!

Ok I live in the middle of nowhere-dirt and dust are part of daily life here. This litter isn’t half as bad as several others I’ve tried when it comes to tracking around my house. It stays close to the litter box-most don’t. I have four cats-this matters to me. It keeps the stink where it belongs, they all cover their messes when done. I like that it’s sand like-it really makes that 15lb box stretch. To those complaining the dust cloud-fill your boxes outside or by an open window. Keeps the dust outside or it gets drawn out the open window. I’ll buy this every time I see it or order it off here.

My favorite litter

I have 5 cats and this is the best multi-cat litter I've found. All litters claim to trap odors, this one is the most effective of the MANY litters I've tried since becoming a many-cat household. One of our many litterboxes is in the human bathroom, and for a while I dreaded going into that bathroom because it would smell of litterbox even when I cleaned it daily, but with this litter the situation is better (we still know there's a litterbox there, it just doesn't hit you in the face that that box is the favored poo spot of 5 cats). It tracks a little bit. Most of what the cats track out of the box is a dust rather than gritty clay pieces. I still need to vacuum the areas, and occasionally I'll find dusty paw prints on something that they jumped on shortly after a litter excursion. Bonus, it really is super light weight. So it sounds like you're getting less litter, but each pound stretches farther than your standard clay litter.

so bad i didn't even use it up

the only thing decent about this litter is the odor control and that it's not a pain to carry up the stairs to my apartment. other than that, it's terrible. it's basically sand, so it's crazy dusty and gets everywhere just like if you came home from the beach without rinsing off beforehand. made my cat left little brown paw prints on the floor and my white bath mats. the dust also settles on your cats fur and makes them feel dirty to the touch. sure, it clumps well but those clumps will stick to a plastic litter box and did not budge no matter how much i scraped or how long i soaked with hot water and dish soap. switched back to clumb & seal slide without finishing my box of absorbx, bathroom and kitty are much cleaner now. donating the rest of the box to a shelter soon.

Disappointed

I love arm & hammer products and was delighted to find something with odor control, lighter weight and for multi cats. Those were the good things, after that it was a complete disappointment. The litter stuck to my cats paws and I had footprints everywhere. I have litter in the bedroom on my dresser, the couch, tables, etc. I tried it once and now I'm going back to my tried and true clumping litter.

OK litter

It's very lightweight I do love that. Now the bad parts. It's very very dusty. The odor control doesn't last long maybe 2 days before I have to fully clean out the litter pans completely.

my cats love this litter & so do i! it clumps tightly, keeps odors to a minimum, scoops easily. it’s very fine & soft. all litter tracks, idc what they say, it’s on their paws, just like when we garden; dirt is on our hands! so don’t think ur gonna find anything better. i used FreshStep with Febreze & it’s much more course & the odor is worse- Arm & Hammer is better!!
