    Lightweight Litter

    By on

I like this litter and have been missing it since it is out of stock everywhere. I'm hoping the company isn't discontinuing it. I don't like the dark color, but I mix it with another brand and it is more visually appealing (the cats don't care). The smell could be improved, but it is not offensive. I think it clumps ok. I like the convenience of lightweight and it is dust free. My cat does not lie in the litterbox anymore when he is upset, which is the reason I really like this litter!

Sticks to litter box and cats feet

    By on

This is one of the worst litters I have purchased over the last 40 years. The litter sticks to the litter box and makes it difficult to clean out the box when changing the litter entirely. Wet litter even sticks to the side and back of the box in between changes. Dust also sticks to the litter box even though the litter is advertised to be 100% dust free. When scooping out liquid waste the litter does not totally clump at times. Regarding feces, this litter is no better than any other I have tried. Even my cats feet are sticky. I will not buy this litter again.

    Love this Litter

    By on

I love this litter. However, I do not like the desert blend light weight litter. The desert blend is white and it leaves tracks all over the house. I like the original unscented dark light weight litter. It is easy to carry, scoop and my cat is not fond of scented cat litter.

Excellent when mixed with another litter

    By on

Someone else said that they mix this litter with Dr Elsey's litter. We do too! The two when mixed together 50/50 are the best we've ever found! We've had up to 19 cats in our house (all rescues) and so know something about litter! The clumps don't stick to the side of the litterbox when there's a large amount of urine and, together, they are almost dust free.

Thank you Chewy for great customer service

    By on

I wanted to thank chewy for their customer service. They were out of the liter I usually get, so I tried a different type that I was not happy with it. I wanted to let other customers know my concerns with the product, so I wrote a review. I was very surprised when Chewy reached out to me! Great customer service!!! This is my normal brand of liter that both my cats and I love. We will be lifetime Chewy customers.

I have to place the litter box in my kitchen... so being dust and scent free is very important. Very happy with this product. It clumps just fine. But it's been out of stock. Hope it will return soon!!!!!

    Very lightweight litter

    By on

This litter is indeed light and low in dust and tracking. It has a dark color that I don't like. It looks like dirt and any tracked litter looks dirty. Although it is unscented, it does have an odor which reminds me of wet paint. I prefer A&H's regular weight, unscented litter better.

meets not only my requirements, but my cats also

    By on

It's a fact that cats do not like highly scented litters. Put any perfume scented item near them and they squint their eyes and back up. I will only buy unscented litter for that reason. In addition, as a senior citizen, I prefer the lightweight variety. Clump & Seal meets not only those 2 requirements, but it also does as its name infers by clumping & sealing. A win-win for my 8 cats and me.

The Worst Litter We Have Ever Used I

    By on

One of our cats is experiencing elderly cat issues. Therefore, we moved one of our two litter boxes to a more convenient location for her. But rather than continuing to use the remaining box in the original location, our other cat has taken to use the same litter box as our elderly one. We had been using the fine silica litter, which was great, but with both cats using the same box, and with our elderly feline urinating more frequently because of the medication she is on, the silica could not handle the waste. So, we started to experiment with other litters -- some we have used in the past and some new ones. One of the new litters we tried was the A&H Clump & Seal Lightweight, 100% dust free One of our cats is experiencing elderly cat issues. So, we started to experiment with other litters -- some we have used in the past and some new ones. One of the new litters we tried was the A&H Clump & Seal Lightweight, 100% dust free. The concept appealed to us. But, first, in my opinion it is really ugly -- a dark brown; litter has to appeal to owners as well as to cats! Second, it did not clump & seal, but rather produced shapeless and very smelly lumps that did not seal all the urine or the smell. After two days, and with cleaning twice a day, we gave up and tossed the dirty litter, which had the consistency of unset cement, in the trash. We have disposed of the unused A&H litter, as we could not in good conscience donate it to the local food bank, or give it to family members or neighbors. This was very disappointing, as A&H is a trusted brand at our house; but this was a major miss, not to mention mess. In 47 years of cat ownership we cannot recall a litter we have liked less. … more
