Hi. Is there any kind of multi cat clumping liter that does not have clay? or very little of it? my 30 plus pound long haired Maine Coon cats get it stuck in their paws and some fur. I'm going crazy. I clean their box twice daily also.

How often do you need to completely clean the litter box out?
Answer by ChewyFeb 20, 2018
Remove clumps and solid waste daily to keep the rest of the litter fresh. Add more cat litter to replace what you have scooped out and maintain a depth of 3-4 inches. Once a month, empty the entire litter box. Dispose of used litter in trash. Do not flush or put in drains.

How is this litter when it comes to sticking to the cats feet and tracking?
Answer by ChewyFeb 25, 2018
Clumps are rock-solid for easy removal and is low-tracking, so litter stays where it needs to be and not scattered throughout your home.

Is this product made in the U.S.
Answer by ChewyDec 25, 2017
This Litter is manufactured in the US.

Don't lookany further

Whether you have 1 cat or 2 like me look no further. My girls are 11 and 16 years old. I've tried everything. The more mature cat will only use clay. Follow the directions for depth., Cleaning etc it will last forever so long as you add and keep the depth. It smells wonderful. Even their urine actually makes this litter smell amazing. My apartment is constantly inspected. They always walk in just after the cat peed and they always take in a deep sniff and tell me the place smells amazing. I ask can you smell cat boxes? They say, "no, it smells very nice in here. You work very hard keeping the studio apartment smelling so amazing. Nice work!". I have 2 cats and a 114 lb purebred Pit Bull and myself in a very small place. It's difficult to say the least.

Worst I've EVER purchased!!

I very, very rarely write a negative review because most products or services are so subjective. However, because I misjudged how much was left of my usual cat litter (World's Best), I thought I'd give this brand a try. Honestly, it's the WORST litter EVER. The texture is as thought someone jackhammered some pavement, threw in some baking soda, then packaged it. The 40-lb box seems like it's 80 lbs, and now I'm stuck with this horrible stuff until my grandson visits and can move it into the garage until my nice trash collector takes pity on me and puts it into the truck. I DO NOT recommend this product under any circumstances. I DO highly recommend the World's Best litter. I've been using it for 3 years, and it really IS flushable & gentle on my furbabies' paws.

Something Changed???

I have 3 indoor cats and have used Arm & Hammer products since they were kittens. I have 2 litter boxes that are cleaned daily with an occasional day missed here and there. Out of the blue I started having potty accidents on the floor right by the boxes! I figured it was time to do a bleach scrub and replace all litter. That didn't solve the problem, still potty accidents. I made sure to clean their boxes daily even if there wasn't much to clean and it still continued! When cleaning boxes I noticed the smell was soo bad, so I started replacing more litter more often to the point that the 40lb box wasnt even lasting a month anymore and still it continued. Well I had had enough! I did a scrub again and this time used a different brand of litter. WOW, No More Potty Accidents! My conclusion, Arm & Hammer litter changed their formula and my cats were having to potty outside their boxes because of the awful smell! 😖 I won't go back to Arm & Hammer, my cats deserve better!

Mud pie mix

Multi cat I doubt. I have 4 cats. Bought this for a change. Plus 40 pounds will last me awhile. NOT!!! It doesn’t clump When cleaning up box it is more like mud. Like you made as a child to make mud pies. Did not control the odor like it said. And I am the type that cleans the box every time the cats use it. Or a few hours in between cleaning. It is by far the worst. Went through the box like nothing. Ended up going to store and getting more.

Sorry no

Absolutely not 99% dust free, I need 99% dust free for real because of my cat who gets flare ups from the dust. I would also rather smell my cat’s VERY stinky feces than I would whatever the heck they put in this stuff. Don’t want to smell the ammonia from the cat pee? Smell the ammonia from our nasty scent instead!! Just stick with slide y’all the price ain’t worth it. Also it didn’t let nearly as long, clumps less right.

Why is it different?

I’m really sensitive to smells. One thing I can’t stand is the smell of litter and ammonia. When I got two cats last year, I tried multiple brands and types of litter until I found this litter that actually worked and I couldn’t smell any excrement. I never changed brands and even recommended it to a few people. It was great! A few months ago I noticed the litter looked different than normal. I wasn’t too concerned until I realized it was totally different. It clumps, but the second you scoop a clump it disintegrates back into the box. Naturally this means it smells like urine very quickly. You would think I have ten cats using two litter boxes that haven’t been cleaned in years with how strong the smell is. Why did they have to ruin a good thing?? Guess it’s back to testing brands again…

Why the constant changes?

I've been using Arm & Hammer Multi-cat since 2017 and I used to love it. It was very effective against odors, even if I went days between scooping. The clumping was good. Starting in 2020, it changed and got worse all of a sudden. It was much darker, with different pebble shades and did not clump as well. I was disappointed but thought it was just supply chain issues that they'd figure out. I was excited when I got a box that was the way the old one was! They fixed it! Nope. It went back and forth, back and forth. Now there are even more varieties of this litter that's supposed to be the exact same thing: scented Arm & Hammer Multi-Cat with clean-boost crystals. Cats are notorious for disliking changes in their litter... you can't just change it willy nilly! These days, I have no idea what I'll find when I open the box. I've tried branching out into other Arm & Hammer litters, in case one of those was more consistent. I'm not finding it so and my cat is peeing outside the box. So now I've branched out to Fresh Step. My first set of 4 bags look just like the old, good Arm & Hammer. The scent's a little overpowering for my taste, but we'll see if it mellows. I might need to mix it with some unscented stuff.

Tear strip should be tear( as in crying) strip

This new box is nearly impossible to open! The "tear strip" doesn't tear. You are supposed to press at the indentation and then tear. But I had to cut the indentation with a knife and then the 40# box just lifted on my finger. No way would it tear! Finally I had to cut the entire tear strip with a knife to open the box. And it wasn't very easy to cut.

Not for our household

Unfortunately my husband was very bothered by the scent of the litter and no matter where we put the litter box in the house the scent permeated everywhere. It gave him headaches, as he is very sensitive to scent. So, unfortunately it did was not a good fit for our household. I did not think it would be that strong of a scent, but it was.
