What collar is recommended for this
Answer by ChewyMay 30, 2020
You should use a body harness for tying out to help reduce the chance of injury to the neck – do not use a no-pull harness or a harness where the tether will attach to the front.

Is it combined weight for cable and stake? Or is it rated for 100 pounds on stake? Would it work for a 65 pound lab?
Answer by ChewyAug 29, 2019
As long as your dog is under 100 pounds, this stake should be able to support them.

Can this be used with a puppy?
Answer by ChewyJun 13, 2019
This tie-out cable can be used with dogs of all ages. It's a great alternative to yards without fences and for training. This should only be used for supervised containment when outdoors on a picnic, camping, or other outdoor activities.

Can this work for the sand? Particularly on a beach?
Answer by ChewyApr 09, 2018
The metal stake will not work for sand on the beach.

Freedom to explore safely

Easy to set-up and use. Allows my dog to keep an eye on me as I mow my front lawn which is not fenced. Yes, she has separation issues so this product is perfect and eliminates her barking when she can't see me. Win Win Right?

Works Great So Far!

So far, so good! I’m surprised it the stake was able to screw into my rocky, desert backyard. My dog hasn’t pulled it out, and he’s been doing well getting used to the tie out. I might have to buy another for the camper so I don’t have to unscrew the one I already have in the ground.

Works for 80 pound lab

We buy this once a year after the snow has gone. We have severe weather here -40C which is hard on the plastic that covers the wiring. Holds up really well even when a strange dog came in the yard and it was strained it held.

Not worth the money

My 35 lb beagle escaped in the first 10 minutes of use. Nothing broken but it seems that the clasps don’t work on either end.

Excellent Solution After Surgery

I am recovering from surgery and couldn't walk my dog because he is too strong. This was a perfect solution. I never leave him alone tied up outside. I stand out there with him while he is doing his business, and then bring him in. This has been a huge help so as not to get pulled and re-injure myself.

What we needed

We have a 4 month shih tzu/ Jack Russell he enjoys outside it keeps him from going too far. I know if he gets heavier I will need something stronger.

DO NOT BUY - Easily Broken!

We used this for the first time yesterday and were surprised to see our 8 mo. old Bernese Mountain Dog puppy running in the street shortly after hooking him on the leash. As other reviews have noted, the link that connects the lead to the in-ground spiral appears to be very weak, thus rendering the product useless. I was bummed because it seemed like a good product for the price. We're very glad he didn't run away or get hit by a car!

small dogs only!

We purchased this because of the “100 lb dog” rating for our two who range between 30 and 45 lbs. it’s lasted about 6 months, but our 45 lb-er gave it one good yank last night and popped the ring into a straight line. The post itself is excellent, as it the actual tie but that loop is not rated for anything over about a 30 lb dog. We are happy with the quality of the rest of it and are simply replacing the loop with a climbing carabiner
