Apparently I have a version 1 Autoslide and there is now a version 2.0. Version 2.0 tags don’t seem to sync with version 1 boxes. There is nothing in this description about what version it is. The one I received is V2.0, so it doesn’t work for me.
The Auto Slide has worked flawlessly for five years with two dogs. But the tags need major improvement. Or the sales price point needs to be dropped to $10 because their short use expectancy. My dogs live in a well maintained yard. And put next to zero wear and tear on the tags. But the tags corrode internally, the battery is very difficult to access & the physical size of the tag needs to be reduced.
We bought the Autoslide in Feb 22. Since then we've had to purchase two more tags as we've been fostering. Unfortunately the two additional tags do not work which we find frustrating and the reason for the two stars. Overall we love love love the Autoslide. The tags need to be smaller and work better.
This tag needs more work on durability. I love everything about the Autoslide, but the interior of these tags erode on the inside very quickly. I have gone through three in less than a year… you do the math. Pricey. But my dog roams and plays in tall damp grass so really putting this tag to the test. Even wrapped in plumbing tap… still corrodes. Hope this can be improved upon…. As I have to buy a 4th one. Now that we have the auto slide can’t live without as it has made working from home a breeze.
I would recommend this if you don't want your dog to get lost
