AvoDerm Natural cat food is pressure cooked to ensure your cat receives optimum nutrition from high quality ingredients. AvoDerm Natural cat food is naturally formulated to be complete and balanced with added vitamins, minerals, and other important nutrients for your cat.
Adult cats should be fed once or twice a day. Find your cat's approximate weight on the chart to determine the amount of food you should feed daily. Your cat's age, activity level and environment may require adjustments to the amounts listed in the table. Always have fresh, clean water available for your cat.
Cat Weight | Cups of Food |
---|---|
3-5 LBS | Up to 1/4 cup |
5-10 LBS | 1/4 - 1/3 cup |
10-15 LBS | 1/3- 1/2 cup |
Kittens Start allowing kittens access to AvoDerm Natural cat food about 3 weeks before weaning. The food can be moistened to help consumption. After weaning feed the kitten 3 to 4 times per day for the first 2 months, and then from 2 to 3 times per day until reaching adult size, and then 1 to 2 times per day. Expect to feed 1 1/2 to 2 times the adult feeding recommendation during the kitten's growing phase. Adjust the daily amount fed so the kitten maintains a good body condition.
Pregnant Females During pregnancy increase the feeding amount during the last 1/3 of pregnancy to 1 1/2 times the amount recommended as shown for the adult. Avoid excessive overfeeding, maintaining a good body condition, while preparing for whelp and nursing.
Lactating Females A nursing female can expect to need 2 to 3 times as much food as recommended in the adult feeding guideline. Adjust the extra food given by the number of kittens and length of nursing. Try to maintain a good body condition. However, with large number of kittens, expect to have some loss in body fat for milk production.

Smells like staled food.
By Michelle on Jan 15, 2021
I used to buy this brand. Since the ingredients looked healthy I decided to give it a try again. Unfortunately none of my cats touched it which is unusual. Most of my kitties are not picky with dry food. Food was not expired but when I opened it, it smelled staled. I liked this brand before. Hopefully it was just a bad luck.

Our cats do not eat this.
By Ginger on Sep 14, 2020
We have tested this and found that all of our cats refuse to eat this even when they are hungry. A waste of money.

Pulled this outta the Chewy box and my male cat started clawing at the bag! Opened it up to give him a handful right there.

Finally a dry food my kitty likes!!!
By simba on Jan 11, 2020
We rescued a 17lb male orange tabby who is 3.3 ft long when stretched out from paw to bum, so in other words he is a BIG guy!! I’ve been trying to find a dry food for him to hold him over in between meals with the wet food. I’ve tried 6 different dry foods and he didn’t like any of them... no blue buffalo, no Merrick, even friskies.. nothing!! When I opened the chewy order, he immediately started chewing at the bag to try to open it!! Good sign!!! I put out 1/4 cup and he ate it right away!! I’m so happy he likes this because this is a very high quality food with no corn/wheat/soy/grain/fillers, and also no chicken, which is helpful since he has allergies from time to time. Cats love it
By MollysMom on Jan 9, 2020
I have 5 cats - one with a bunch of food allergies. This is the only dry food he can eat without his skin breaking out. My other four cats like it too. The kibble is just the right size for munching.

Cat won't touch it
By DonnaH on Oct 20, 2019
Howdy isn't that picky, but she's added chicken to her list of foods she's allergic to (fish/wheat), and I thought this food might be the answer. Nope. Not even close. It might be for some, but she won't touch it. There is very little odor to attract her. She looked at it and walked off. So marking this one off the list. Fortunately the manufacturer has a 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed commitment.

Very small kibble
By Dige on Aug 6, 2019
SO Disappointed! Bought this because my Tuxedo has dandruff and hoped it would help with dry skin. This is the size of split peas. Cats can't be bothered. Are they supposed to swallow it whole and not chew? I am at a loss as to what to feed that will help dry skin. He drinks plenty of water. I guess if they would eat it it might be good so can't give a fair rating.

75% gravy = waste of money
By Dito3 on Aug 2, 2019
I've been looking for soft food that is free of by-products, corn, soy, wheat. I can save you some money. AvoDerm is mostly gravy, very little meat. I ordered Purina Beyond instead. I'm happy. The cats are thrilled.
