Feeding Instructions

AvoDerm Natural cat food is pressure cooked to ensure your cat receives optimum nutrition from high quality ingredients. AvoDerm Natural cat food is naturally formulated to be complete and balanced with added vitamins, minerals, and other important nutrients for your cat.

Adult cats should be fed once or twice a day. Find your cat's approximate weight on the chart to determine the amount of food you should feed daily. Your cat's age, activity level and environment may require adjustments to the amounts listed in the table. Always have fresh, clean water available for your cat.

Cat WeightCups of Food
3-5 LBS Up to 1/4 cup
5-10 LBS 1/4 - 1/3 cup
10-15 LBS 1/3- 1/2 cup

Kittens Start allowing kittens access to AvoDerm Natural cat food about 3 weeks before weaning. The food can be moistened to help consumption. After weaning feed the kitten 3 to 4 times per day for the first 2 months, and then from 2 to 3 times per day until reaching adult size, and then 1 to 2 times per day. Expect to feed 1 1/2 to 2 times the adult feeding recommendation during the kitten's growing phase. Adjust the daily amount fed so the kitten maintains a good body condition.

Pregnant Females During pregnancy increase the feeding amount during the last 1/3 of pregnancy to 1 1/2 times the amount recommended as shown for the adult. Avoid excessive overfeeding, maintaining a good body condition, while preparing for whelp and nursing.

Lactating Females A nursing female can expect to need 2 to 3 times as much food as recommended in the adult feeding guideline. Adjust the extra food given by the number of kittens and length of nursing. Try to maintain a good body condition. However, with large number of kittens, expect to have some loss in body fat for milk production.

The cats seem to enjoy, and the dog sneaks in and loves it. It looks rich. I'll buy more.

    Beats other products

By GreatProduct on Oct 31, 2020

As many products are being recalled I have been trying new brands and this one all the cats love. A bit pricey though for four cats so I mix it with blue buffalo so it lasts longer.

    Perfect dry food!

By CindiB on Aug 26, 2020

My cat likes it, I wasn’t quite sure if he would. He was mostly having canned food and I thought it was best to switch him up to something bright.

    WELL, That's a first!

By CatManDo on Mar 15, 2020

I have a 2YO rescue female calico cat named Peaches. I have tried every dry food on the planet, specialty foods, no this, no that, all this, all that, etc. Then Chewey.com recommend AvoDerm. My cats love salmon so of course one last try.... A couple of day go by and only ZeZe (my 6YO female Siamese kitty also a rescue) is chowing down on the new dry food. About to give up on Peaches and dry food for her, WHEN A MIRACLE HAPPENED! I found my soooo finicky kitty eating dry food for the first time in her life! AvoDerm for the finickiest of kitties! Definitely FIVE STARS!

    Healthy and tasty

By FriendlysMom on Apr 22, 2020 Top 100 Contributor

My cats don't often like the healthy, grain-free foods but this is the exception. I bought this specifically for Carolyn who has skin issues. Fingers crossed this helps her.

    My kitties love it

By SarahKP on Mar 20, 2020

My kitties love this food, only problem is I have 4 cats, and the food is not sold on Chewy in larger bags, an 18lb or 20lb bag would be very helpful!

At last, my cats eat dry food

By Hanky on Jul 3, 2019

the minute I put this food down for the cats, they started eating it. And it feels so much better to me to be giving them quality food. They do, however, still prefer Fancy Feast Seafood Mixture (wet food). I mean, who wouldn't?
