Feeding Instructions

AvoDerm Natural cat food is pressure cooked to ensure your cat receives optimum nutrition from high quality ingredients. AvoDerm Natural cat food is naturally formulated to be complete and balanced with added vitamins, minerals, and other important nutrients for your cat.

Adult cats should be fed once or twice a day. Find your cat's approximate weight on the chart to determine the amount of food you should feed daily. Your cat's age, activity level and environment may require adjustments to the amounts listed in the table. Always have fresh, clean water available for your cat.

Cat WeightCups of Food
3-5 LBS Up to 1/4 cup
5-10 LBS 1/4 - 1/3 cup
10-15 LBS 1/3- 1/2 cup

Kittens Start allowing kittens access to AvoDerm Natural cat food about 3 weeks before weaning. The food can be moistened to help consumption. After weaning feed the kitten 3 to 4 times per day for the first 2 months, and then from 2 to 3 times per day until reaching adult size, and then 1 to 2 times per day. Expect to feed 1 1/2 to 2 times the adult feeding recommendation during the kitten's growing phase. Adjust the daily amount fed so the kitten maintains a good body condition.

Pregnant Females During pregnancy increase the feeding amount during the last 1/3 of pregnancy to 1 1/2 times the amount recommended as shown for the adult. Avoid excessive overfeeding, maintaining a good body condition, while preparing for whelp and nursing.

Lactating Females A nursing female can expect to need 2 to 3 times as much food as recommended in the adult feeding guideline. Adjust the extra food given by the number of kittens and length of nursing. Try to maintain a good body condition. However, with large number of kittens, expect to have some loss in body fat for milk production.

Transition Instructions

When switching to AvoDerm, we recommend that you switch your pet over slowly. This is very important so you dont disrupt your pets digestive pattern. Changing foods will often cause vomiting or diarrhea if not done correctly. Therefore, we recommend a 5-day transition before you begin feeding AvoDerm exclusively. The switch is an easy transition that includes both AvoDerm and your pets old brand. On the 6th day, you can feel confident feeding AvoDerm for the rest of your pets life.

My 2 kitties won't touch this stuff, they love crab and lobster, thought they would love this food by reading the ingredients! It's rated high and has good ingredients. Not for my kitties

First dry cat food I found to have Lobster & Crab flavor in it.

By jjcali on Dec 3, 2020

I got this for my extremely finicky 15 year old cat. She seemed to like it at first and now it has worn off a little. The food is as described and I have no problem with the food and it will not go to waste(there is a bunch of homeless cats in the neighborhood). I gave it a fair rating just because I still have to find a dry food she will eat more of.

Lobster and Tuna Tonight, My Loves!

    By Liavdra on Aug 16, 2020 top1000Contributor

This recipe really wows 'em, as does the Salmon with Tuna Meal, the only two tried thus far but not the last, believe me. The avocado and avocado oil used in this line's formulations really do make a difference in the softness of the coats of my cats, and the fluffiness they impart is visible, not just to touch! The pieces of this one are a flat, very light, medium-sized, disk. Plus, lest I forget, the taste is designed to appeal to cats. And, does it ever! (Hope that my cats aren't the exception and that yours will follow suit.)

    Picky eaters

    By JSunshine79 on Jul 26, 2020

One of my cats needs to be kept grain free while the other hates anything made with chicken. This was the answer! They both love it!

    Liliah did not like this.

    By dragulj76 on Jun 3, 2020

I only rated this food with three stars because our cat Liliah did not like it. We thought she would like it because she loves dry tuna blends, but not this one. I hope other cats will like it. I donated the bag of food to my sister's cats. They loved it!
