I bought this dog food on the recommendation of others that have senior dogs and joint issues. I have yet to see any significant improvements. My dogs love to eat it!

  • Stella got her groove back!

Stella my dog of 7 years was having a tough time after going to park wouldn't be able to walk without pain. Decided to give this a try and I have to say the difference is night and day. She is back to jumping on couch which she hadn't tried in over a year. My 4 year old dog is also eating and other than gas first couple weeks has adjusted well.

  • Great for my large arthritic dogs!

    By on

I have two senior dogs. One has a problem with her front right shoulder, the other has generalized arthritis along with two inoperable torn ACL's. They're both seniors. When I compared ingredients with all kinds of senior dog foods that claimed to have hip and joint health I realized something. Senior dog foods have a reduced amount of protein. Um. Why? Seniors need INCREASED protein. I then set out to find a non-senior food that had a number of requirements. 1. It had to be grain free. 2. It had to be high in glucosamine and chondroitin (you cannot have one without the other; one helps the other absorb it into the body and believe it or not, many senior foods are low in the absorption I have two senior dogs. I honestly believed that there would not be a food out there and to my dismay, there was this one and only this one! I'm sure there are more but I wasn't able to find any. My search actually led me here to Chewy! I bought it and both dogs loved it. They overate the first few days because they liked it. It does firm up the poopy a good bit, which can be a problem. One of mine already has chronic constipation but the other doesn't. When I saw both were having problems I had to reevaluate. I did more searching and still found this one was better. I called my vet who said to add (for my large dogs now, not medium, small or tiny) one heaping tablespoon of pure and plain pumpkin puree daily. I did and perfect! No more constipation. My chronic dog needs it twice a day but the other more regular dog is all good now just once a day. All in all this is a fabulous dog food and I cannot recommend it enough. I've used Blue, Innova (now Evo) and Wellness. All of those are excellent foods and I highly recommend them as well. This however, is the one that best meets two of my dogs' needs. … more

  • So far, so good

I am trying this food for the first time for my geriatric Pug. She has little sensation in her back end so firm stools are a must. She's been eating it mixed with her old food for about a week now. It seems to be easy to digest and she loves it.
