    If only....

    By on

I forgot - my cats like the 3oz cans of Avoderm but since I feed so many cats (12), I really need large cans. Sadly, these 5.5 oz cans of avoderm are not to their liking. I guess the rice flour really puts them off, just like some brands use flaxseed and pea flour - ingredients my cats do not like. I have a strong feeling that cats just don't come across these ingredients in the wild........

Yummy, so my cat says . . .

    By on

Jake, at Chewy, suggested three different foods that my finicky cat might like. I bought all three and the only one she absolutely loves is the AvoDerm. It is the first time in the ten years that I have had her that she has cleaned her plate completely upon eating the food. Usually, if there any liquid in the pate, she will lick it up and leave the food. But there is no liquid in this pate, which is soft and even smells good, and nevertheless, she gobbles it up. I'm in heaven. I had to donate the Miko and the American Journey, two other brands that were suggested, but I am thrilled to have found her something she will eat without having to starve herself into submission. Eats it all!

I usually feed the Salmon flavor of this brand and switch to chicken for variety. This is my cat’s second favorite flavor of this brand. Ocean fish flavor of this brand is a close third place favorite.

    cats love it!

All 5 of my cats love this food; however occasionally there’ll be a can that none of them will eat. Makes me wonder if that can is spoiled.

Better label - is needed for me.

    By on

Hello- I have always asked Chewy for ONLY NON-pate meals and I seem to get shipments of pate- It is my fault ultimately- as i should read the label.. but I have talked to someone each time and made it clear-- NO pate- but my last shipment had multiple cans of pate- it's not your fault-- but maybe in label make clear it's pate to avoid the confusion.. that's all.. my cats love your Chicken/crab meal that is non-pate-- so that is what i hoped this was.. My mistake..

Good for cats and less smelly than the Salmon

    By on

I've been feeding my cats AvoDerm canned Salmon for a couple of years. This made their coats soft and shiny and cut down on scratching and licking but I couldn't stand the fishy smell. So I switched to the AvoDerm canned chicken, which works just as well and the smell doesn't bother me.

One out of five cats will eat nothing but this. One out of five cats will not touch it. The other three eat it reluctantly.

    Awesome Food

    By on

I have two 15 yr old Birmans. One has kidney disease, the other appetite issues. He will NOT eat kidney food. I decided against sub Q fluids. He is on herbal remedies & infrared light therapy and top quality food is a MUST. AvoDerm is the answer for both of them! They really like it. No more taste testing! Great product.

My brats, um cats, only eat pate. I have tried shredded wet food, even cutting it up further, but there is always lots of dried shreds wasted. So in my goal to have a good rotation of healthy pate, I tried this Avoderm chicken pate and it is always eaten. It is now firmly in the rotation of wet food (can't feed the same flavors every day!) and everyone is happy.
