Kittens: Start allowing kittens access to AvoDerm® Chicken & Herring Meal Formula cat food about 3 weeks before weaning. The food can be moistened to help consumption. After weaning feed the kitten 3 - 4 times per day for the first 2 months, and then from 2 - 3 times per day until reaching Adult size, and then 1 - 2 times per day. Expect to feed 1 1/2 - 2 times the Adult feeding recommendation during the kitten's growing phase. Adjust the daily amount fed so the kitten maintains a good body condition.

Pregnant Females: During pregnancy increase the feeding amount during the last 1/3 of pregnancy to 1 1/2 times the amount recommended as shown for the Adult. Avoid excessive overfeeding, maintaining a good body condition, while preparing for whelp and nursing.

Lactating Females: A nursing female can expect to need 2 - 3 times as much food as recommended in the Adult feeding guideline. Adjust the extra food given by the number of kittens and length of nursing. Try to maintain a good body condition. However, with large numbers of kittens, expect to have some loss in body fat for milk production.

AvoDerm® Chicken & Herring Meal Formula is pressure cooked to ensure your cat receives optimum nutrition from high quality ingredients. AvoDerm® is naturally formulated to be complete and balanced with added vitamins and minerals, and other essential nutrients for your cat. Adult cats should be fed once or twice a day. Find your cat's approximate weight on the chart to determine the amount of food you should feed daily. Transition Instructions

Day 1 & 2: Feed 20% new food and 80% of the old brand.

Day 3 & 4: Feed 50% new food and 50% of your pet’s old brand.

Day 5: Feed 80% new food and 20% of the old brand.

is this food made in the United states? Where do you get your ingredients?

This food is manufactured in the USA. All of AvoDerm's main ingredients are purchased from North American suppliers with the exception of duck from France, tapioca powder from Thailand, lamb from New Zealand and quinoa from Peru. They purchase all of their vitamin mix from reputable domestic suppliers who source vitamins globally and then test them domestically before selling them.

AvoDerm

Used to use this as only kibble for cats. Coats shinny & health was great. It was a great product & cats & I liked it with the Vit E & avacado in it. It was a family owned company & they prided themselves on the product w/no preservatives & healthy ingredients. Price was reasonable. THEN they sold to Nat'l Pet Food Co. Price went up, amounts decreased & ingredients changed. Cats wouldn't eat it. After many yrs, I decided to try it again. Bought small bag to see if they would eat it. They're nibbling so far. I like the Vit E & Avacado, but not real thrilled with some of the other ingredients they've added or eliminated. We will see.

So far the picky cats love it

We’ve had this food about a month now and it is my cats’ favorite dry food. I really hope it’s as healthy for them as it is tasty. As long as they continue to enjoy it and stay healthy I plan to keep giving it to them. Please don’t change anything. Also I was specifically looking for an option that had little fish in it and herring fits the bill.

Only 1 cat out of 9 cats ate it but even he wasn't too fond of this particular dry food. I will feed this to stray cat(s).

A trusted brand for my pets. Chicken meal and herring meal have a tasty compatibility. Pellet shape is a small-ish oval, an easy shape for swallowing, but with thickness for body. The ground brown-white rices provide fiber and contribute to the taste.

Happy Cat, Soft fur

I've fed Avoderm to my dogs for a very long time and been very happy with it. Decided to get this for my cat. Its higher quality and my cat seems more satisfied and isn't always scamming for snacks. Her fur is so much softer now too.

Picky eater loves it

My cat that I adopted as a kitten 1.5 yrs ago is a very picky eater with both wet & dry foods. I was feeding him TOTW dry and that was working out for him. I currently feed my 12 yr old dog AvoDerm senior dry dog food so I figured I would try the dry cat food. I set both TOTW & AvoDerm in separate bowls to see which one my cat would go for. The AvoDerm bowl was always finished first. I only give it 4 stars as I haven't been feeding it to him for very long. I have yet to see if he blows up his litter box. Also along with his fur and energy. I would say so far I am happy with this AvoDerm dry cat food formula.
