Allow your kitten to free feed until fully weaned (approximately 6 - 8 weeks). After weaning, your kitten can be fed AvoDerm® Kitten moistened or dry. Develop a regular feeding schedule starting with 3 small meals a day for younger kittens. As your kitten gets a little older, gradually reduce the feeding to twice a day. As your kitten reaches 1 year, they may not eat as much and this is normal. Start reducing the amount fed to ensure proper weight maintenance and to prevent overeating.

AvoDerm® Chicken & Herring Meal Kitten Formula is pressure cooked to ensure your kitten receives optimum nutrition from high quality ingredients. AvoDerm® is naturally formulated to be complete and balanced with added vitamins and minerals, and other essential ingredients for your kitten.

    beautiful results

I adopted 2 of 4 rescued male malnourished 12 week old kittens. They were rescued at about 9 weeks by a good Samaritan who tried to prepare them for adoption. Their mother was so sick, she died shortly afterwards. Of the 4 babies, one other littermate died, and the other was born with only 3 legs. My two little twin boys had thin and scraggly fur and one had NO hair on the tail at all. Yet they were playful and unbelievably loving. After 6 weeks on this food, you would not believe their appearance.... Sleek and healthy, with fur so soft, even the vet commented on the texture of their fur, and how quickly it had developed. They are solid grey with no white and the fur actually SHINES like I adopted 2 of 4 rescued male malnourished 12 week old kittens. They are still the most loving and social cats I have ever had....Hurray for AvoDerm. … more

    Kitten loves this food!

    By on

This food is not only nutritious and balanced for kittens, but he LOVES it! The kibble size is small and easy for tiny mouths as well. I highly recommend this kitten food and had weighed ingredients extensively before choosing!

    Working for my elderly cats

    By on

I have elderly cats with kidney disease- certainly not the target market for this "kitten" food. However, I found it on a list of foods that were somewhat lower in phosphorus than most, so I tried it. (I don't think the manufacturer discloses the phosphorus content, so I'm just hoping my source was accurate, and that it's still lower in phosphorus than many.) My cats have been on pretty unpalatable Rx renal diets and novel protein/hydrolyzed protein diets, and they just eat so little of those that it's tough for them to maintain a healthy weight. This is more palatable than those foods, and they're gaining some weight now that I've caved and made the switch. Certainly, this isn't as healthy for their kidneys as a Rx renal diet would be, but anorexia will kill a cat faster than kitten food. I can't imagine this would beat Friskies in terms of palatability, but for the people who might be coming from a similar situation to mine, give it a shot. … more
