Connect with a Vet is Chewy’s pet telehealth service. Our team is made up of online vets for dogs and cats. Online vet visits are a fast, easy way to get answers for all your pet-related questions and concerns.

Virtual vet visits are a supplement to clinic exams—our licensed veterinarians and veterinary technicians cannot diagnose or treat medical conditions or prescribe medication for your pet.

The Connect with a Vet telehealth team can address a wide range of topics, including behavior, food and supplements, illness, injuries and wellness. For example:

• “My dog ate chocolate [or socks, or sneakers—you know how it is]. Does he need emergency care?”
• “My cat has been scratching at her ears this week. How can I get her some relief?”
• “My dog is showing signs of separation anxiety. What can I do to calm her down when I leave the house?”

Our licensed veterinarians and veterinary technicians can help you understand the urgency of your pet’s situation and advise when you need an in-person consult or need to seek emergency care.

If your pet is experiencing a life-threatening situation, please go directly to the closest veterinary clinic.

There are two easy ways to connect with our licensed veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

Live Chat will connect you instantly, so you can get advice right when you need it. Use the text-based live chat to exchange messages, pictures and videos with the veterinarian or veterinary technician.

Video Calls are scheduled in advance, so you can select a date and time that works best for you. There are usually same-day appointments available, or you can schedule a video call up to 2 weeks in advance. All video appointments are 20-minutes long. You’ll be able to see and talk with the veterinarian or vet tech as well as show your pet on camera.

The price for a single video appointment (20 minutes) is $19.99.

Video calls are free and unlimited for Chewy customers with active Autoship, as well as for our CarePlus pet insurance customers.

Connect with a Vet veterinarians and veterinary technicians cannot prescribe medication for your pet or authorize medication refills. Please consult your local veterinary clinic for help with medications. If you aren’t sure where to go, our telehealth team can refer you to a veterinary clinic in your area.

The expert telehealth team at Connect with a Vet is available from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. Eastern Time, 365 days a year, including holidays.

Connect with a Vet is currently available to customers nationwide, except customers residing in Alaska and Hawaii.

Currently, Connect with a Vet is only available for dogs and cats.
