Connect With a Vet is Chewy Health’s telehealth service that enables you to connect online with licensed veterinarians and get answers to all your pet-related questions and concerns.

Veterinarians available on Connect With a Vet cannot diagnose or treat medical conditions or prescribe medication.

What type of questions can veterinarians address online via Connect With a Vet?

Through Connect with a Vet, licensed veterinarians can address a wide range of topics like behavioral advice, nutrition consultations, illness, and wellness related questions.

  • “I’m not sure if I’m feeding my dog the right food, can you provide some guidance?”
  • “My cat has stopped eating his food and is lethargic.”

Veterinarians can also provide clarity on the urgency of the situation and inform you when you need an in-person consult or need to seek emergency care.

How can I chat online with a Vet?

To get instant vet help and connect with a licensed veterinarian, simply click the “Connect Now” button.

You can connect with a vet via live chat or video.

Live Chat will connect you instantly, allow you to exchange messages, and give you an option to upload and send photos and videos of your pet directly to the veterinarian.

Video appointments will allow you to schedule a video call with the veterinarian. You can select a date and time that works best for your schedule – we offer scheduling up to 2-weeks in the future and also have same day appointments available based on availability. All video appointments are 20-minutes long and you will be able to see, speak, and chat with the veterinarian during this time.

What is the price to use Connect With a Vet?

Connect With a Vet is free and unlimited for our Autoship customers nationwide.

If you are not an Autoship customer, the price for a single chat session is $14.99, and the price for a single video appointment (20 min) is $19.99.

Can I request a prescription refill?

Licensed Veterinarians available on Connect With a Vet cannot prescribe medication or authorize refills.

Please consult your local veterinarian for help. If you do not have a local veterinarian, our veterinarians can assist you in locating one close to your location.

When are veterinarians available on Connect With a Vet?

Veterinarians on Connect With a Vet are available daily from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. ET, 365 days a year including holidays.

Who is eligible to use Connect With a Vet?

Connect with a Vet is currently available to all customers nationwide, except customers residing in Alaska and Hawaii.

Which types of pets can I talk to an online vet about?

Currently, Connect With a Vet is only available for dogs and cats.
