Virtual vet visits are a supplement to clinic exams—our licensed veterinarians and veterinary technicians cannot diagnose or treat medical conditions or prescribe medication for your pet.
What type of questions can the Connect with a Vet telehealth team answer?
The Connect with a Vet telehealth team can address a wide range of topics, including behavior, food and supplements, illness, injuries and wellness. For example:

There are two easy ways to connect with our licensed veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
Live Chat will connect you instantly, so you can get advice right when you need it. Use the text-based live chat to exchange messages, pictures and videos with the veterinarian or veterinary technician.
Video Calls are scheduled in advance, so you can select a date and time that works best for you. There are usually same-day appointments available, or you can schedule a video call up to 2 weeks in advance. All video appointments are 20-minutes long. You’ll be able to see and talk with the veterinarian or vet tech as well as show your pet on camera.

Video calls are free and unlimited for Chewy customers with active Autoship, as well as for our CarePlus pet insurance customers.
Can I get a prescription refill on Connect with a Vet?
Connect with a Vet veterinarians and veterinary technicians cannot prescribe medication for your pet or authorize medication refills. Please consult your local veterinary clinic for help with medications. If you aren’t sure where to go, our telehealth team can refer you to a veterinary clinic in your area.
When are veterinarians available on Connect with a Vet?
The expert telehealth team at Connect with a Vet is available from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. Eastern Time, 365 days a year, including holidays.
Who can use Connect with a Vet?
Connect with a Vet is currently available to customers nationwide, except customers residing in Alaska and Hawaii.
