I like these boots. I put them to an unusual challenge by using only one boot on the front paw of my 70 pound newly tripawed dog (front leg). He is getting used to the new routine of only having one front leg, so I wanted to protect that paw while he learns. Unfortunately, I could not keep the boot tight, and it caused more problems than it solved. It did give him better traction on slick surfaces as long as it was tight, and I also think it adds the desired protection. It is just that when it loosens, it causes him to stumble. I tried adding an additional velcro strip, but it did not work out. I felt that the price warranted giving it a try. They may work out better on a 4 paw dog. I think they need a bit of improvement though.
I really love these boots, as a person who lives in Colorado 4 to 6 months of the year is very volatile and temperature. I would have given this full stars but the straps fall apart pretty quickly. The actual boot itself is very high quality, I wish they would get better straps to anchor them onto the pups a little bit better. These will fly off if I don't continually reapply the straps. The fluorescent strip on the straps falls apart, then because of the cheaper type of material it's like you overstretch the velcro trying to get it tighter and it loses its grip. Good boots, I wish they would work on the straps so that they don't slip off the pups paws.
I adopted my sweet 70# pup when she was 8 years old and quickly learned that she LOVES winter. I have thought of getting booties many, many times, but always passed believing she wouldn't tolerate them. I finally made the leap earlier this winter when temps were predicted to stay below zero for several days. At age 13, not only did she accept the boots, they seem to give her flying vapor powers as she sprints the icy paths! Wonder if Kipchoge is available for dog walks...
Very happy with this purchase! I bought these booties for my 41 pound mini Bernedoodle. She injured her back paw and these booties offer the best protection. I purchased the medium size, because she has thick poodle like fur and the fit was perfect. They are easy to put on and take off. She's been wearing it for two weeks on our outdoor 20 minute walks and it is holding up great and stays on fine. I even washed it in the washer. No issues, other than the metallic strip came loose.
These boots make a huge difference for me and my pup. The rubber soles protect her paws from the salt and reduce her traction on ice so we're on equal footing which makes it easier for me to stay on my feet. She doesn't like wearing them in the house, but as soon as we get outside she returns to a normal gait. Tightening both straps on each boot keeps them on almost 100% of the time.
This seems like a well-made, sturdy product, but it's not right for corgi proportions. The size small is the right width for his paw, but the strap sits right at the first joint of his leg, so it doesn't stay secure. The boot works its way free as he walks and then the shoe part is flopping along and he trips over it. Will be returning.
I was skeptical about how well these would fit (after numerous attempts with other brands) but they fit! I got the XXL for my 9 month old male Dane with GIANT feet and they fit very well! the front paws are about perfect, and the back paws are a little big but now loose or awkward. my escape artist has not been able to chew these off yet and he adjusted to them very quickly (unlike some other brands)
These boots are very well made, more so than an earlier, more expensive brand I tried out (which didn't fit). They have plenty of room to get the foot into the boot, and the tightening bands work very well. The interior feels warm and the sole has a modest tread. I can't say our dog enjoyed wearing them, but they stayed on during our walk (in snow and 6 degree temps) and we didn't worry as much about frozen feet.
While I simply love these boots and have received many compliments... They don't seem to last long lol 😂. I walk Eli daily in the street mainly. The two middle toes have bored through making a whole. So now they are compromised. May I suggest reinforcing the front of the boot as the nails eventually break through. I'd like to add that from the time I first started using them they lasted about 30 miles. We walk on average about 25 miles a week. That is the only reason I gave 4 stars. Other than that they are awesome. Now that the weather is getting bad out there I won't be able to use them if it's wet as his paws 🐾 will get frostbite.
I received the booties today and I am just so happy with them! Medium size fits my 65 lb Australian shepherd with a 3.5” foot. These booties stay one extremely well! Make sure you push your pups foot all the way into the bootie! I noticed in the picture being advertised that the golden retriever looks like he’s wearing flop socks, they could’ve used a better description they were not put on correctly. Thanks Chewy! This is going to save my floor from muddy paws!
