Great when you figure out the weird sizing
By LibetsDelae on Dec 9, 2019
I have an Australian Shepherd pup, she's 9 months and the size 5 fit with some room for her to keep growing. I might have tried a size 4 for a more secure fit but I don't know if the size is too drastic of a change. I find this one so much more humane than the cloth ones since she can eat and drink without any issue. Would definitely recommend! However if you don't know how to judge the sizing I say you might just have to do it at a pet store to save half the hassle.

Does its job
By Mary on Nov 22, 2019
My 102 lb Rottweiler had a nasty, painful ear infection and I was worried that she might be difficult when my vet flushed her ear. I acclimated her to wearing this by smearing peanut butter on the inside and first just holding it while she licked it, then fastening it loosely, then fastening it properly. Each time, I removed the muzzle before she was finished licking all of the peanut butter, leaving her wanting more. She doesn't mind wearing it at all - in fact, she grips it more tightly so she can get more licks in. Her vet visit went very smoothly :)

the best tool for my rescue dogs
By Mochnwill on Nov 10, 2019
I can’t say enough about this. I originally trained my first rescue to wear this in conjunction with a head harness so we could work on some of her triggers and because she gets defensive when sleepy. I bought an extra because we rescued another dog and they get along great most of the time but have tussled a few times and I wasn’t sure if the new rescue would have issues so I began introducing her to the muzzle and head harness. Best to introduce slowly and not force it on the dog. Let them voluntarily put their head in and reward and have them do tricks with it on and build up duration. Anyway the basket style of this muzzle is very humane and can be worn for long periods. The dogs can take I can’t say enough about this. My first one wears hers all night so she doesn’t bite our legs in her/our sleep when she sleeps at the foot of the bed. I now have them both wearing one at times so they can safely wrestle and keep boundaries intact without biting each other.i also muzzle my dogs when I have guests because they are rescues and you can never be too careful. They redesigned this muzzle with a plastic clip for the head that’s easier to use. My dogs cannot get it off when used with a collar and the top optional piece. Chewy has this for a great price as well. This tool has allowed me to keep my dogs and people safe and allowed me to keep behavioral dogs that are otherwise amazing dogs but that people would have probably given up or put down without the proper training and tools. Again, can’t say enough about this product. The caging is firm but slightly flexible. It is very durable. You can also mold them to a more custom fit as seen. By the packaging but I haven’t done that yet. I would note there are also other uses than preventing biting. - dogs may chew on things that could harm them and this could help with that as well. There are helpful videos on YouTube about proper introduction of the muzzle as well. … more

lifesaver, tension relief
By susan on Oct 28, 2019
I was ready to give away a puppy that bite my inner knee as I stood between him and my other dog. I thought I was gona have a heart attack. I was extremely upset. I was told about the baskerville muzzle because this puppy was too young for anything else beside obedience training(which he is very smart at). it fits and now he can't bite my dog. he does get along with my other dog. i really pray he will get used to being with us and be peaceful. the muzzle is sturdy, he can't take it off,(he tries)and it looks cute. I take him to lowes and home depot with it on and people pet him. its dogs he hates! some dogs. so strange.

good muzzle, wrong size but my mistake
By Abbey on Nov 11, 2019
Received my muzzle today. It's good quality and seems comfortable. I've always seen dog people recommend Baskerville for basket muzzles and it all makes sense now. However, I ordered size 2 and it was unfortunately too large, but that was my mistake and doesn't affect my rating at all. I should've read reviews that it runs larger. I ordered a size 1 and I'm sure the size 2 will come in handy for some dog I own in the future.

Works so well!
By GentlBenn on Oct 17, 2019
I have a schnotti (1/2 schnauzer/scotti) who thinks he is the BIGGEST dog @ the dog park- he is a puppy MAGNET! They all run up and want to play with him. Nope. An ear gets nipped, and it bleeds, spectactularly! and then on a white dog...and it looks horrific and a new owner..and drama...oh god(s) the drama. This works so well- I have owned one for 5 years. we wear it EVERY day at the park. so wonderful. He is now known as the 'goofy head butting dog' as he will walk up to strangers, ram their shin as if to say "Hi, if you JUST take this off, I swear I will be your best! friend! forever!" (nope), but has made what could be a nightmare bearable. Fits my European Boxer
By DogMom on Nov 13, 2019
Overall it's good. It fit my European Boxer who has a big head and a flat wide muzzle. I did have to mold it and kinda flatten it out, but it will fit an American Boxer as is. I'm still getting the adjustments perfect but I am not positive that this would stay in place in an actual dog fight.. especially on flat faced breeds. However as a deterrent and for training purposes I think it's good.

literally a life saver

I bought this muzzle for my 34 pound beagle/blue heeler mix. he’s an absolute sweetheart, but as all dogs can be, he’s skittish and VERY protective over me. I didn’t size him or measure him, I just got a size 4 and it fits him perfectly fine. I was scared to get it because I didn’t want to make it seem like he’s mean, but the muzzle has HELPED him get more comfortable around strangers and get used to new friends and I love that so much. It’s also super good for training. He’s never gotten out of it nor has it fell off or anything. I don’t have any complaints about this muzzle except it’s tricky to figure out at first and the top strap that goes over his head is still kinda confusing. if you have I bought this muzzle for my 34 pound beagle/blue heeler mix. he’s an absolute sweetheart, but as all dogs can be, he’s skittish and VERY protective over me. Perfect for our needs
By Holmesie on Dec 9, 2019
Works great for my dog who does not play well with others. The fit is a little iffy. I think you need to be careful to not adjust it so that that their nose is all the way at the end and rubbing. I wish it came in pink so it looks friendlier! :)

Works well
By hockeypunk on Nov 8, 2019
This muzzle prevents my dog from catching and killing the squirrels, chipmunks, and bunnies in my yard. She’s not overly happy with it, but she tolerates it for the most part because she can be outside in the yard again. She still chases the little critters, but I no longer have to worry about her catching and killing them. A win-win!
