Baskerville Ultra Dog Muzzle

Works for short-term use

We're getting to know a food-reactive, high prey-drive dog and we wanted all introductions between him and our cats to be safe. This does not have enough pant room for long durations or high temps, but works for us in calm, indoor settings while we teach him manners around the cats. The collar loop is necessary for us, so very glad it's included!

I have 3 dogs, and ordered a size 6 each. It's nice and sturdy. Only one muzzle was able to fit out of the three. Felt like Cinderella with her glass slipper lol. Is there a way I can exchange two of the muzzles for a smaller size?

I bought this for my XX Pitbull who doesn't like being examined by my Vet. I got the biggest muzzle but it wasn't big enough for the width of her head. Maybe it would fit a average size Pit but not mine.

I wouldn’t order this again

Often, when you’re looking for a muzzle you may be in a desperate situation. I wouldn’t waste time ordering this one for pitbull style faces. Even in an attempt to reshape, this muzzle doesn’t fit right and is uncomfortable/the straps are sharp in some places. I’d rather risk it then have my dog wear this and suffer.

NOT new and improved

I ordered the tan since the picture showed the original design, having a metal buckle and clasps versus the bulky plastic. I received the tan in the new design so unfortunately I will have to return it. My 60lbs APT has been wearing the same Baskerville ultra muzzle since the summer of 2019 and it was perfect. Sadly a piece on the front detached and when I ordered a new one from a different site i was disappointed to see they changed the design. It’s not heavy, bulky, and hard. The straps are significantly wider and bulkier and the clasps are now cheap bulky plastic instead of the small metal ones. There’s no notches for the center strap to attach to the head strap like the metal one so it just slides back a forth causing friction and irritation on their skin. Even the measurements are different. My dog is properly trained to wear a muzzle, she’s also not a chewer or aggressive. I don’t force it on her or force her to keep it on so she doesn’t negatively associate wearing a muzzle and has zero issues wearing one. With that said, she hates the new design and I can see why due to all the changes I mentioned above. Poor decision on the design change because it definitely is not an improvement. That’s not chewy’s fault by any means but the only reason I ordered this specific one is due to the picture listed with the old design, and sadly it is not

Fits well, but size up one

I did my research before purchasing, and I'm glad I did, because I made sure to size up one to a 4 for my smaller chow/lab mix. Fits her perfectly after adjusting the straps, and the muzzle itself leaves plenty of room for yawning, panting, and drinking water/receiving treats. This is my girl's first muzzle, and it seems comfortable enough. Though, there is a little weight to it, so it's taking some getting used to, but it doesn't seem to upset her.

Size 3

size 3, my dog is around the 70 pound mark and this size does fit where it needs to, she has a short snout but other than that this is pretty much perfect for her, i didnt latch it cause she isnt trained with it yet but its snug so she wont be able to take it off when shes use to it

Works, just not as good as I'd hoped

I have a Golden Retriever who is obsessed by eating twigs and mulch in my back yard. I've tried for 3 years to train him to "leave it" on command. He CAN spit things out, but chooses NOT to spit out the twigs and mulch so I have to dig it out of his mouth. My vet suggested trying a muzzle so that's what I'm doing. Vet specifically stated a cage muzzle is recommended so he can drink and get treats with it on. He only has it on when he goes into the back yard but unfortunately he can get some things through the muzzle. This is getting 5 stars because it is easy to get on and dog doesn't object to it. It just doesn't completely resolve my problem. Only my dog could resolve that and he's determined not to.

Awesome!

This muzzle is great! My Border Collie kept attacking my other dogs when she was out with them but she is very sweet to people. I put this muzzle on her when I let her out with the other dogs and when she tried to bite them she was defeated and could not bite them. She also could pant, receive treats and drink very easily. My only concern was she could push it off with her paw and when I tried to put it tighter it was pressing against her nose. I ordered the border collie size.

Dog Trainer Wasn't Impressed

Ordered this for highly reactive dog that eats everything in site; "pica" - in-home dog trainer tried to get a good fit on our pup but it seemed more bulky than anything. So, not going to try using this one nor the other size as we bought both sizes in hopes that one of them would work out
