How did my dog get tapeworms?
The most common way dogs get tapeworms is from having fleas. Dogs that hunt or chase small rodents and rabbits (even in their own backyard) may also be at risk of infection from tapeworms.
How do I know if my dog has tapeworms?
Tapeworm segments are easily seen around your pet's anal region or in their poop, similar to grains of white rice. Of course, it's not always obvious that your dog has tapeworms, so the best way to identify a problem is through an exam performed by a veterinarian.
What is deworming a dog?
Deworming simply means getting rid of intestinal worms (parasites) in your dog. Worms can sound gross and embarrassing, but most dogs will get at least one type of intestinal worm at some point in their lives. Tapeworms are common in dogs. Deworming medications contain ingredients that break down and debilitate worms so they can be expelled from your dog's body.
How do I give Tapeworm Dewormer to my dog?
The directions for Tapeworm Dewormer (praziquantel tablets) for dogs are simple! You can offer the proper dosage tablet(s), based on label directions, to your dog by placing the tablet(s) in a pill pouch or include in a type of food your dog will readily eat. Fasting is not necessary or recommended.
WARNING: Keep out of reach of children.
What are the potential side effects of deworming my dog with Tapeworm Dewormer?
Isolated incidents of either salivation or diarrhea have been reported following treatment with Tapeworm Dewormer (praziquantel tablets) for dogs but were considered non-significant. If these signs are observed and they persist, consult your veterinarian.
WARNING: Keep out of reach of children.
How often should I deworm my dog?
Luckily, one treatment with Tapeworm Dewormer (praziquantel tablets) for dogs should be adequate to clear out the tapeworms. However, steps should be taken to treat and prevent fleas on the dog (and other pets in the home) and remove rodents around the home or premises in order to prevent reinfection; otherwise, retreatment will be needed. WARNING: Keep out of reach of children.

Did the job — check weight limits first
By Catlin on Jan 18, 2021
These did the job when I found tapeworms in my foster dogs poop. I saw them for 1-2 poops after the initial dosage, but they were gone in 24 hours. Check the weight dosages to make sure one pack is sufficient if you have a larger pup!

Fast working
By StoryTeller2 on Nov 27, 2020
Living in a rural area, we get mice. The mice bring fleas. The fleas pester my dogs and viola, the dogs have a tapeworm. The pills were fairly easy to powder and mix into their normal food. None had any of the possible side effects - two senior Collies and a German Shepherd youngster. A couple of hours after feeding, my Shepherd expelled visible dead worm and now, roughly a week later, everyone is back to their normal selves. I highly recommend this product!

Worked well
By Michelle on Dec 18, 2020
I gave this to my dog, and she was worm-free within 24 hours (or so I think). It's been over two weeks, and I still haven't seen any more worms in her poop, so I think it worked just fine.

Trying a second time
By jamchicago on Sep 27, 2020
Gave to my 15-month-old, 60-pound black lab on September 17. No bad side-effects noticed. This morning (September 27) when I picked up her stool there were two live (rice-sized) tapeworms in it. She is given Simparica and Sentinel each month just like my other dog to prevent fleas and ticks, hookworm, roundworm, and whipworm.

Works as intended and fast!
By Zach on Sep 9, 2020
Got this for my new recur pup who is 2 months old. I saw little rice sized worms in her stools and immediately looked it up and the culprit was tapeworms. Gave it to her, and less than 5 hours later a huge tapeworm came out. Couldn’t be happier!

Good Stuff
By Jamie on Sep 1, 2020
Pretty happy with this product. I bought one package for two dogs and it had the perfect dosage! My big dog (he's around 60lbs) did get an upset stomach from it, but it just made him poop a little more than usual. Otherwise, everything was good and pups were happy.

By Kipp on Sep 1, 2020
I had a foster dog with remnants of flea eggs on him and my dogs got tape worm from that. I treated my dog with this twice for tape worm and it didn't work.
