    My dog loves this stuff!!

    By on

I own a 3 1/2 year old female Presa Canario. I was looking for a dry food with low protein. My baby girl loves this stuff! Great ingredients and priced decently low. Though it does make her very gassy/ stinky, she seems to behave normally so we continued this food.

    No trouble transitioning

    By on

2 big dogs(golden and golden/collie) were on other kibble, and love this so far. No trouble with digestibility or taste. Love the small bites. Pretty plain packaging but who cares about that! It's been a couple of weeks, so I can't attest to fur, but all in all, extremely pleased, as is my budget!

I love it, my dogs hate it.

Four of the small dogs in our rescue have very sensitive stomachs. We usually feed those dogs the Health Extension small bites, which they love and do great on. Unfortunately, Health Extension is not the most "budget friendly" dog food. While searching for a more economical food for these four dogs, I came across the Beaverdam brand. I loved everything about this food, great ingredients, great price, five star reviews, and Chewy's fast/free shipping with a $49 purchase. I was so sure this would be a great food for the four dogs, I even signed up for autoship and was planning on switching a few more dogs. The food arrived, and I was excited to mix some into the usual food for these four dogs to Four of the small dogs in our rescue have very sensitive stomachs. I was so sure this would be a great food for the four dogs, I even signed up for autoship and was planning on switching a few more dogs. The food arrived, and I was excited to mix some into the usual food for these four dogs to begin transitioning. All four of these dogs ate around the Beaverdam (which is larger pieces than the Health Extension small bites, so it is easy to know which is which), leaving nothing but the Beaverdam in their bowls. Over the next two weeks, we continued to try to integrate the Beaverdam food, but no luck. Our somewhat picky dogs wanted nothing to do with this food. I then tried a few of our other dogs in the rescue who will eat pretty much anything, and same thing, they really did not like this Beaverdam food. I am so sorry to not be able to recommend this Beaverdam dog food, but no matter how great the ingredients or price, as anyone knows, if the dogs won't eat it, it is not a good option. So, back to Health Extension small bites for us. … more

Harvey the 90+ lb German Shepherd

    By on

Ordering more right away. Harvey was getting tired of his iams large breed and would only eat one serving every couple days. I mixed Skipper's choice in and he ate around the iams, he loved Skipper's so much. Now he is back to eating regularly with Skipper's choice.

    Small Firm Stools

    By on

My 8.5 year old Curly Coated Retriever has a very sensitive GI Tract. I fed California Natural for years but when it was discontinued a Chewy Rep recommended this food. It works! My dog likes it and her stools are perfect! I am now transitioning my younger competition dog onto the High Energy formula and so far so good!

    Beaverdam dog food

    By on

We have used Beaverdam dog food for 15 years. Back then we had a Dachshund that was having seizures, I happened to speak with an owner of Beaverdam and he suggested we try their dog food, along with medication. Bob lived for 9 more years. We continue with it for our dogs we have now.

    Great for sensitive stomachs.

    By on

I got this food as a last resort. I have a Great Dane who is not only picky, but EVERYTHING upsets his stomach. I've been using this food for about four months now and LOVE it. He eats it without any hesitation and his stomach has settled down so much. My other dog also loves it and she can be a picky eater sometimes too. Highly recommend for dogs with sensitive stomachs.
