NOT Heavy Duty - Destroyed Quickly
Out of the box the mat did not feel "heavy duty". It felt nice and cozy, but not substantial. Unfortunately, this proved to be true when my 6-month old small rescue puppy was able to chew through the mat fairly easily. On the first day he pulled the loop off. And, within a week, he chewed a hole into the mat and pulled the stuffing out. I tried to patch it, but he just chewed a new hole in another spot. This mat should not be marketed as 'heavy duty', The mats at the discount store lasted longer (and were a fraction of the price).
Lasted for 2 years with a dachshund
This has held up pretty well so I am buying another for my dachshund. He was just a 1 year old puppy when I got the first one and although I have had to sew a few repairs due to his chewing, I think 2 years is pretty good. I also think it’s important to figure out what type of texture your dog likes chewing and avoid that kind of fabric. That is why I chose this one, he isn’t as tempted to chew with a relatively flat fabric like the canvas like fabric this one has on the one side. He does like chewing on the faux sheepskin side and that’s where I have had to make repairs. But, when that’s on the bottom it’s better. And now that he’s older (3 yrs) I’m hoping he won’t chew the second one as much.
Washable!
Perfect for the large crate. Perfectly washable unlike trying to unzip and restuff those other beds. Cozy and my 5 month old golden loves it.
Not heavy duty but cozy
Love the material of this crate mat-‘fits our medium sized Kong crate perfectly (36”). The canvas side is great for warmer weather. Only downside is it is not “heavy duty” as described. My heeler puppy chewed a massive hole and ripped out the stuffing in the 5 minutes I went upstairs to brush my teeth. Otherwise great product for dogs that aren’t prone to chewing.

I wanted to love it as everything else I got from chewy has been great but this product isn’t heavy duty as advertised. It only lasted about 10 min after I put it in the crate with my dog

If you’re looking for something durable, keep searching. I will say, it’s cheap, so if your pup is prone to destroy things, maybe it’s a good option.
Crate mat for dogs
It turned out to be too small for the crate, but instead made a wonderful padded mat for my dog carrier.
Lusia has not chewed it up!!!!
It does seem to be tougher than most but also I spread all of her dog-smelly towels over it for a few days - they are now in the washer and I think she has bonded!!
