From a palletability perspective, Bil Jac is the best ever. Rosie had been on PPP Chicken and Rice Puppy and Adult (now 2) all of her life and loved it. Rosie had been on PPP Chicken and Rice Puppy and Adult (now 2) all of her life and loved it. With it did come gas and loose stools, but always did. A couple of months ago she developed a skin allergy issue which may not have been food related at all - unknown. Anyway the vet suggested to go away from chicken base to PPP Salmon and Rice which she refused to eat at all! Convinced she would have starved herself before eating - she is a typical Airedale. Talked to the Breeder and he recommend Bil Jac. When it came in, I thought she was literally going to eat through the bag. She loves it and now has a firm normal stool and much less gas. It still is chicken based with Whitefish, so if her allergy was food chicken based, still do not know for sure. Talked to the folks at Bil Jac, a family owned company for like 60 years and could not of been more helpful, knowledgeable, and understanding. Actually gives you a number to call that you don't have to spend a day to find a number. Nothing but praise for the Bil Jac Brand and Team. One thing that is obviously different, and maybe not expected, the kibble is small like rabbit pellets size. No issues from Rosie there as well. Loves it and so far it loves her. … more

My dogs won't eat it at all. Not even a nibble. I've been trying to persuade them for a few weeks now. I use freeze dry bits to encourage eating, but they just pick out the freeze dry & their previous kibble, but leave this food behind. Dog really likes it
By Kaimom on Feb 4, 2021
I have a 3 year old sheltie, Kai, who is beyond picky. I usually cook chicken for him most days. I got him at 9 weeks old and the breeder told me she fed her dogs nothing but BilJac food line, so this is the only "dog food" Kai will eat. BUT he also will not eat dry food unless it's a last resort. He began having skin issues with patches of hair falling out due to an eczema-type rash. A couple trips to the vet for meds a hair-cut and it healed him up. The condition has started flaring up again and I'm feeding him Sensitive Solutions. It's too soon to tell if it's working for his skin but Kai sure has been gobbling it up. He obviously likes the taste of this better than the regular chicken I have a 3 year old sheltie, Kai, who is beyond picky. I usually cook chicken for him most days. I don't know if it's just the cooler weather, but he is also acting more energetic too. Who knows, maybe his skin isn't irritating him so he feels happier and energetic. Either way, I am very pleased. … more

Oddly shaped, but delicious (I think)
By Betsypider on Jan 1, 2021
I haven't tasted it myself, but my dog likes the food - I was surprised by the shape of the kibble, which look a little like rabbit or gerbil food. Anyway, my dog ate it up, so I'm guessing it tastes good!

Cody Lives It
By CodysMom on Nov 22, 2020
My dog is a rescue who, apparently, was fed from the table or not at all. His foster mom had a lot of trouble getting him to eat and then he came to me, with the food they tried feeding him. After multiple tries with the food he hated, I spent the first few weeks with him trying out different foods, all of which he either spit out or wouldn’t touch. In desperation, I went to the pet store and explained my situation and was pointed to Bil-Jac. What a lifesaver. My dog took to the food immediately. He will eat it right out of my hand. I will admit that I took one star away because I discovered that they use BHA as a preservative and that’s a questionable ingredient. Our 10 year old rescue started having skin issues and not wanting to eat much, but after a month on this food, he is energized and his skin is settled down. And he doesnt leave any in his bowl!
