Aesthetically Pleasing and Modern
By Jogabelle on Feb 14, 2022
**Pros:** Aesthetically Pleasing and Modern. Cool lighting, comes with a remote and has a variety of color settings that enhance the look of the aquarium. Comes with filter, filter media, bubbler, ceramic media, pump, packet of water conditioner. The main draw of this aquarium is the unique look. Great small aquarium for a betta, tetras, mountain minnows, mollies, or guppies. I’m using this to house a single male betta. As noted in the other review, the shape warps the view, but I think it looks neat. Cons: Aesthetics trump functionality. The filter on this isn’t the greatest. You can only use the ceramic media that comes with it. You can’t use traditional aquarium gravel or have a planted tank **Pros:** Aesthetically Pleasing and Modern. You can only use the ceramic media that comes with it. You can’t use traditional aquarium gravel or have a planted tank because of their filtration. The air pump is insanely loud and the water agitation is too much for a betta. I solved this problem by purchasing a mini Hygger air pump, which is virtually silent and creates smaller bubbles that are preferable for a betta. I also bought a Eheim Jager 50-watt heater, which fit perfectly. This aquarium is too expensive for what it is. Biorb also sells beautiful silk plants and a tube cover ( I purchased the mushroom one.) This all adds up and the Biorb is a bit of a money pit. I was willing to deal with these issues because the look of this tank is stunning. They also advise you to buy new sponge filters to replace monthly, but you can simply clean it in a bucket of the aquarium water and reuse it to keep the good bacteria intact. Simply buy new activated charcoal and place it under the sponge. I found a YouTube channel (Pond Guru) that has a method for pimping the Biorb tube filter to make it so you can use traditional gravel. This aquarium is more high maintenance than it appears if you want it to work well. I really love the look of it, and it makes me happy, thus the high rating. … more

Double Vision
By Kurt on Jan 25, 2022
The circular tank makes it very hard to watch your fish. It’s magnified because of the curves and it’s like putting someone else’s glasses on and trying to see.
