First off, the small size is bigger than 6 parakeets put together. Secondly, the eyes on this thing are big stickers. Yes, stickers..for a bird that has feathers. I don’t know who though it was a good idea to put stickers on a bird toy. Apparently they must not know that birds have feathers and that it would be detrimental to a bird to get one of these stickers stuck to its body. I should’ve known better when I saw in the list of suitable birds that a hummingbird was one that they listed. Yes, a hummingbird. Disappointed in Chewy for even carrying this garbage.
Ekkie immediately started shredded this! I also cut a flap into the top and added some millet and freeze dried mango— this was for his first “hatch”day :)
This toy is super cute but it hangs by a string and can be a chocking hazard to birds. I would not hang it in my birds cage. The bird can get his neck tangled in the string. Instead I cut the string off and placed it on top on my birds cage, where he happily shredded it up to nothing.
My 8 month old African Grey is totally afraid of this toy. Won’t go near it
I bought this for my Too' and after he tore a corner off, I looked inside and saw scotch tape holding a piece of the inner box together. Scotch tape is highly dangerous to birds, so I threw it away. No, I don't recommend this for birds.
Great idea for a shreddable toy to encourage appropriate chewing activity. My two parakeets enjoyed shredding this item. A very cute way to keep your birds entertained!
