    Birds love it!

By ptknight on Oct 10, 2021

These cakes have brought a tremendous number and variety of birds to our yard. My only one complaint is that a few of them were broken upon arrival, probably because these seem to be a little more loosely compacted than some other brands. The birds seem to go through them faster also, though this may be due to the greatly increased number of birds. I am ordering more.

    Totally crumbled, don’t bother

By Linda on Oct 5, 2021

I ordered this and when I got it, it was pretty much just clumpy bird seed. Not useable as a stacker.

    Not the best

By MikeP on Jul 2, 2021

I agree with others.. these stackers do not ship well. They arrived broken and crumbling, with a lot of seed spilling out when you open the package. Once they are installed, they seem to get ignored on an active feeding station. I don't know if its poor quality seed, or what... but other brands of stackers have done much better than this one.

    Woodpecker stacker

By Debby on Apr 19, 2021

Unfortunately this product is not worth the money, tiny and falling a part. I’ve ordered other seed and they are a great value. I thought I would give it a try.

    poor packing of the product.

By noseyrosey on Feb 12, 2021

I recieved these today and was so mad when I opened them. They were just beat and banged up in the box. There was no cushion to keep them from rolling around. Now seed is broken off. I am very unhappy with this and wont be ordering these any longer from you

    Not Recommended

By Melodie on Jan 4, 2021

The Birdola Woodpecker Stacker Cake Wild Bird Food does not ship well. Both times I have ordered this product it has arrived in pieces and the usable part is about 1/2 the size it should be by the time it gets here. Will not reorder. More substantial products are available but not on this site.

    Birds and Squirrels Love Them!

By BirdLady on Jan 12, 2021

I buy these for the birds and squirrels. I hang them in the bush in front of a window. And my cats love to watch them eat! This product is of great quality.

Get Pine Tree Farms seed logs instead; last longer, no mess, and no bugs!

    By JandJ on Oct 18, 2020 top10Contributor

I used to buy these cakes (on other sites) until I started getting batch after batch that was infested with various grain-loving bugs. They would never arrive in good condition; chunks would be broken off, the whole thing split, even crumbled so half the bag was loose seed. The birds liked them, but the cakes would quickly break apart on the feeder and fall to the ground, where the squirrels would take off with them. I finally found Pine Tree Farms' seed logs, and have never looked back! Those are cheaper for their size (one big log fills the feeder), well-coated with whatever sticky agent keeps them formed so they don't fall apart, packaged in a durable plastic tub, come in several varieties I used to buy these cakes (on other sites) until I started getting batch after batch that was infested with various grain-loving bugs. Two stars for these because the birds eat them and they're still easier than loose seed, but minus three for all the issues I've had with them. If you're determined to try these, go with the no-waste kind not this one. No-waste is slightly less likely to have bugs in them since the shells were removed. … more
