Can you please confirm this recipe does not contain any peas or pea flour? The salmon sensitive skin formula does contain pea flour, and I would like a totally pea-free recipe.

Blackwood Sensitive

Our dog has been on ProPlan for 2 years for her itchy skin. She has stopped eating it so we thought we would try the Blakwood sensitive dog food. SHE LOVES IT!! It seems to help her itchy skin just as well as the ProPlan and she gets to eat a different flavor than Salmon.

The Proof is in the Pittie

I have two allergy-prone pits who each came to us around 4 years old. It took us a few years to figure out which was best for them as we healed their guts. Seasonal allergies with grass went from oozing sores on their bellies, cysts in their skin, and daily washing/meds to one having zero issues and the other maybe some redness if I let the grass go to seed. Amazing food and the reason we keep it on autoship.

cheaper elsewhere

Food is solid but the price on here has gotten extreme. I have found it cheaper in multiple locations. Chew is just too expensive

Great price for my pup with several allergies

The day my pup turned 1 he became allergic to a lot of foods. I've tried so many expensive foods and luckily came across a site that allows you to list all allergies and then gives you a list of approved foods. Well I was given 2 choices this and something that costs twice as much for only 20 lbs of food. I know this is only his first time having this food but he loves it! I'm happy to say no more rash and no more itching. I'm one happy mama now

Blackwood Catfish Dog Food

We think feeding our dog high quality dog food is very important and we like the Blackwood brand. However, the hike in price may prohibit us from purchasing this brand sometime in the future. We may look at other brands in the future.

Not so well for my pups

I have two dogs with food sensitivities. We had great results from Blackwood lamb sensitive skin and stomach but it was not available when I went to reorder so I gave the catfish a try. Both dogs had severe diarrhea and one vomiting. I gave them scrambled eggs a few days and it cleared up. I tried it again to see if maybe it was something else only for them to get sick again.

Blackwood 5000 Catfish

Dogs love it. I have 2 dogs with allergies and with this food there’s no other ingredients that contain chicken or beef. Works great for food allergies! The Blackwood Salmon and rice is another great option but more expensive.

Bog Price Jumps

I started getting Blackwood 3000 and 5000 because it was rated highly by an independent dog food review company online, the quality was high, the price was great at just under $1/lb, and my dogs were having some stomach + allergy problems so I thought the switch would be good for them. They liked both the 3000 lamb+rice and the 5000 sensitive stomach catfish+barley. Since they liked it and it was not bad for the skin or tummy I kept buying one or the other on autoship for about 1.5 years. 3 large bags went went from being about $80 to being over $180 in that time frame. As such we are trying other brands. I can't keep paying for those kinds of price hikes. I know COVID has made supply issues and caused price increases, but it's over double the price it was less than 2 years ago for the same foods. It's nearly the price of Royal Canin now so if I decide to stay with a more expensive food I might as well pay just a couple of dollars more (or the same when on sale) for a better one and get it.
