Decent quality food for an amazing price, especially on the sale I purchased it. It doesnt mean much because my kittens will eat anything, but they love it and transitioned to it no problem. Only reason I give it four stars instead of five is it isnt the absolute pinnacle of healthy ingredients, but it still is a solid, appropriate choice.
I mix this in with our ferrets diet for a variety with their meal. They love it. It’s boosted their coats, lots of energy and overall they look healthier than ferret food alone. Ive also been feeding my dogs the Blackwood 1000 and the salmon and rice for awhile now and everyone looks great and is very healthy. Yes it’s more expensive but no problems with recalls, molded food, pets not wanting to eat, not having good coats or being to thin or fat. And no gas! Can’t beat that! Try it they even have an All life stages 2000. It’s worth it if you’ve been trying all different foods. Worked for mine maybe it will work for your cats, dogs , ferrets?
I'm really bummed, no foster kittens in a few litters have really liked this.
I foster some cuties. They love it and thrive. Full of energy and beautiful coats. Love it.
She eats it just fine...when I don’t spoil her with wet food at each meal.
I have been feeding this to my kitten for about 6 months now and he loves it. The little kibbles are round with a hole in the middle and he never had a problem biting them. I will definitely continue feeding him the adult formula after a few more months.
My eight month old kitten never took a single bite. The first time she sniffed it, she walked away. Of course, every cat is different, but I recommend not wasting your money on this. I just ended up donating it.
Review for ferret owners and curious kitten owners :D I only add 5% of this food to my ferrets food mix pate. I serve the pate 3x a day and I would not feed this in kibble form to my ferret because he could choke on it (better form for kittens). I feed primarily Wysong: 45% ferret digestive, 40% ferret archetypal 2, 10% growth formula, and the last 5% Blackwood kitten. Ever since adding the Blackwood kitten I've noticed an improvement in stool, coat condition, energy levels. I added this food because my ferret was plucking his tail, and his coat was dull. A few months later his coat improved, and his tail plucking decreased. I recently switched shampoo and conditioner and his coat is amazing now and he's stopped plucking his tail. YAY! I recommend this kitten food as an additive to your ferrets pate or ducksoup. I would also recommend this for kittens.
This is a high quality kitten food, but neither of my kittens like it. The only way I can get them to eat it is to mix it with broth from Miko canned food. The adult cats didn't like the adult formula either. I bought this because Chewy is still shipping the old formula in the brand I want and I'm trying to avoid wheat, gluten, corn, soy, peas, and potatoes. I guess I'll have to keep trying foods until I find something that's both healthy and appetizing to them. I'm giving it 2 stars because none of my 4 cats liked this brand, but I still recommend this food for cats that do, as the ingredients are excellent.
Blackwood again nails it with the kitten formula. They love it, and knowing it is packed with nutritious ingredients makes this food a no brainer going forward. Hoping for a promo, but will purchase either way.
