It has Pea Flour
I chose this food for my puppy because the ingredients didn’t have peas. I get the food and look at the ingredients on the bag and it has Pea Flour. I would not have ordered it If the website would have shown the actual ingredients, very disappointing. Now I am going to have to keep looking for a puppy food without peas.
Blackwood puppy growth
My dogs ate this but preferred the All stages Catfish and rice or Salmon and rice food much better. They were not a fan of anything that contained chicken. And half way thru the bag of puppy they stopped eating it? Yet they love the Salmon or Catfish Blackwood foods?
Absoutely must buy !
I switched my dog's food when I read an article about how peas may lead to heart problems in dogs. I have to say this ended up being a great because my dog has had a problem with loose stool and I have tried so many different brands and diets that I eventually gave up thinking that it wasn't the food's problem. This is the first food I have tried that has given my dog solid poops! The bag is also resealable which is great and lastly my dog loves the food! My one issue is that the kibble is extremely small, it is for puppies so I understand, but my puppy is 10 months and already very large so maybe this brand could look into making larger kibble for bigger breed puppies? My dog still eats it just fine with no problem, but could be an issue if you have a larger puppy that doesn't chew their food well. Basically, I highly recommend this food ! I don't see myself getting any other brand in the future.
Inaccurate info
This food hasn't been 513 kcal for a long time and the ingredients changed a year or more ago. Chewy hasn't updated, neither has the manufacturer who admitted to using old bags with incorrect info. I no longer trust the company and this is not the first time I've found that ingredients and other info isn't up to date.
Great food
My puppy was eating when she came to us and was filled out nicely and we kept her on it as she was doing so well. We will not change her to anything else so we hope they don't go out of business ever lol.

Another Command Performance with Chewy and Blackwood Pet Foods
I have used Blackwood Dog and Cat food for my rescue pets. Recovery and Older Pets. This is the first time we ordered for our adopted puppy. Our pup Ely loves the food and I can see her grow. Her long hair is healthy and shiny. I can buy with confidence with Blackwood pet foods. It is sometimes difficult to find and it is great that Chewy is a supplier. Chewy makes it quick and easy to order and the shipment usually comes within 1-2 days! Chewy has about everything one needs for their pet -cost effective and great customer service.
Yummy in tummy
My Saint Bernard loves this food! I've tried multiple other foods but she wasn't gaining any weight. After switching to Blackwood, she started to build a little more muscle mass. Going to try this for another month.
Best Dogfood Ever
Ive been using this dogwood for over 10yrs, will never used anything else. Keep my pets healthy with that bulky look.
Great puppy food
We tried several puppy foods including some old standby favorites. Even when transitioning very slowly over a number of days, just could not get the soft stools and intermittent diarrhea under control. We were using wormer as per the veterinarian's recommendations. And running stool samples for Giardia and other protozoan parasites. Also ran tests for virus and parasites. All the tests were negative. We began to transition the puppies over to the Blackwood Puppy and within a few days the stools began to firm up. Now 3 weeks later the stools are wonderfully firm and the puppies are gaining weight and have plush coats. Great product in our opinion.
