About BLUE Buffalo
Blue Buffalo began with unconditional love and some furry inspiration from a large breed Airedale, Blue. When Blue's family started a pet food company, their vision was clear. They wanted every pet parent to be able to feed their pet with the same care they would feed family. So they created the #1 natural pet specialty food to help furry family members live happy, healthy lives. Of course, they named it after Blue.

Decent cat food
By Savi on Feb 17, 2021
One of my cats has a sensitivity to chicken so I bought this hoping it would stop the hairballs and puking. It has! My cat was initially hesitant to eat it because the other food had been making him sick, but he's slowly warmed up to this. He definitely prefers the dry food more, but he will eat most of this. I consider it a success since the hairball count has dropped to 0.

Great Quality Food
By JenP on Feb 26, 2021
We have been feeding the BB Basics duck canned food for over a year because one of our cats has food allergies. Duck is a great protein source for sensitive cats, and this is one of the few foods he can eat and not have a reaction. He really enjoys the flavor, although my other two cats prefer other flavors.

Quality varies
By Lindsay on Feb 18, 2021
The texture, moisture and consistency change so much between orders. The most recent one had an unacceptable amount of small bones. I had been using it for many months but the sharp bones were unacceptable. I'll have to switch. Keep an eye on this brand.

Such varied consistency between cans.
By Trying on Dec 9, 2020
This is the ONLY canned food my hyperthyroid old cat will eat. But will not eat the cans of same flavor that are a thinner consistency. I buy it by the case and it's extremely expensive. Some times less than half the case is edible to her because of the differing quality. Don't understand why Blue Buffalo does not have any regulation controls with their products. I crush her medication in her food. She will just throw the pill up if I give it forcibly. Feel trapped by this low quality flavor that is her ONLY preference just to throw out half of it!

Formula Change?
By KMATZKE on Jan 30, 2021
My cat absolutely loved this food for a good 8 months but it seems like they may have changed the formula? It used to be a nice wet, smooth consistency and now it is firm and very “grainy”, and he won’t touch it.

Nope they just wouldn’t eat it.
By Farmerjohn on Feb 23, 2021
Chewy was out of Purina cat food (as is the rest of the country) so I grabbed this product to replace Purina. Our three cats didn’t like it at all.

Flavor not too great
By Deebrack on Jan 21, 2021
My cat enjoyed it for about 2 meals before becoming completely bored of it. After that, he'd sniff it and leave it. He'd eat it later when he was starving enough. Fed him 1/2 can twice a day.

Good alternative
By CoCatMom on Nov 28, 2020
We recently just had to switch our cats food due to allergies, and the prescription wet food we got is not good, they turn their noses the other way, so we were looking for an alternative that is chicken and beef free. Testing the waters with this line of blue buffalo. So far both cats seem to like it.

Picky cats said no thanks
By Erin on Nov 13, 2020
Been testing different LID diets on my boy who may have a food allergy. He and his sister liked this food for about 2 days then all of a sudden refused to eat it. They do like the corresponding dry food but would not eat the wet one. Maybe your cat will like it!
