About BLUE Buffalo

Blue Buffalo began with unconditional love and some furry inspiration from a large breed Airedale, Blue. When Blue's family started a pet food company, their vision was clear. They wanted every pet parent to be able to feed their pet with the same care they would feed family. So they created the #1 natural pet specialty food to help furry family members live happy, healthy lives. Of course, they named it after Blue.

  • Makes a Great Mixer

    By on

I’ve been feeding Blue's limited ingredients Basic pate for years. First as a solution for a labradoodle with reflux, and nowadays as a mixer with kibble. Our 3 dogs love a Tbsp mixed in and pate goes a lot further than those cubes & gravy style wet foods. I usually get 3 days from a single can with 3 dogs. I do feed one of the girls extra pate and less kibble, if one gets a lil' loose stool now and then, for a meal or two... and yes wet food generally produces a much nicer stool, and is easier on their tummy than kibble. How convenient, right... using a quality limited ingredient wet food as an everyday mixer, so the solution for temporary issues is already on-hand when they occur.

  • She wouldn't eat it

    By on

My dog is getting a bit older now (6years) and has been snubbing her food as of late due to an unfortunate lyme disease relapse. She's eaten Blue Buffalo all of her life and enjoys other varieties of wet food but refused to eat this. I did a taste test with this canned food mixed with Blue Buffalos chicken and brown rice dry food, and a Blue Wilderness topper package with the same dry food in another bowl and she ate the food with the topper and walked away from the buffalo basics wet food mix.

  • Sensitive Tummy

    By on

The Blue Buffalo Basics Limited Ingredient Grain-Free Turkey & Potato Recipe fog food is the only food my Boston/Frenchie mix can eat without throwing up. Originally he was on only hard food, but recently we started mixing the soft with the hard food. He loves it even more and thankfully still no tummy issues!!

  • Dogs Love Food, Owner doesn't like malfuction of pop top opening.

    By on

The food is excellent and my 4 dogs love it. Problem is and reason for only 4 stars is that I have bought a total of 4 cases (individually each time) and with each case at least 3 cans had a defective pop top lid.

  • My 6 dogs LOVE this flavor

    By on

New to the Basics canned food. All my dogs go crazy for this just like when I first bought them the dry food. Thinking they didn't care for the grain.

  • I Love It!

My owner thinks I'm allergic to chicken, So now I'm eating this Turkey Tater recipe and so far so good. I wasn't looking or feeling to hot when I found my new family at the pound but they started feeding me Blue for pups and now look at me.

  • Good price, good ingredients

    By on

I usually feed my pug wellness limited ingredient, but they seem to keep going up on the price. Then I tried basic blue limited ingredients and my dog loves it and it’s approximately $7 Cheaper per case and is just as high quality as wellness.

  • Allergies - unknown

    By on

My lab was having chronic ear infections and the vet thought perhaps it was an allergy. I selected this product to mix with dry and he loves it. Gobbles it up every morning. Was using Wellness Core and he was refusing to eat it lately though he had originally enjoyed it. Allergies seem to be improving -- dont know how much of it due to limited ingredients but Im sticking with it

  • Great for sensitive stomachs!

    By on

This was an alternative to Hills Science Diet which we thought would help our dog’s digestive issues yet caused an uncomfortable skin rash & worse stomach problem. I’m sure it’s based on each dog but my golden found relief in blue basics which gave us great peace of mind in buying more from this line. My dog loves it with no digestive issues at this time.
