How many ounces of food should a large, medium, and small puppy be getting a day?
Answer by ChewyFeb 13, 2018
The feeding recommendations are based upon age and weight. Up to 11 weeks of age, feed as much as your puppy will eat in 3 or 4 feedings per day. Weeks 12 - 26, feed 1 can per 5 lbs of body weight per day. Weeks 27 - 52, feed 3/4 of a can per 5 lbs of body weight per day.

Is this AAFCO approved?
Answer by ChewyJun 27, 2018
Blue Buffalo Homestyle Recipe Chicken Dinner With Garden Vegetables Food for Puppies is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for growth.

If I wanted to feed 1 can wet food in conjunction with the large breed puppy food each day, would I feed the puppy less dry food, or just add the wet food to her current diet?
Answer by ChewyMar 20, 2018
We'd recommend feeding less of the dry to add in the canned food in the diet.

He does like it

Having a puppy and trying different foods he'll eat and eat again is sometimes a challenge and costly. We tried this one and he seemed to like it more (I think) because of the bigger vegetables. So, now Chewy delivers food twice a month, on schedule and on time.

Finally, one he will eat!

I have gone through 4 other puppy canned foods and this is the first one my new Chihuahua puppy will eat. The breeder recommended kibble. He doesn't eat enough kibble to keep a bird alive, so I have been trying different brands of canned food. The most hated one is Diamond beef. He doesn't like two different Instinct flavors, nor one Purina puppy food. I could only get him to eat the last three by shoving tiny pieces of jerky into them. When I gave him the Blue Buffalo Homestyle Puppy Chicken Dinner, he ate it all up in one sitting. Whew!

Yummy for the Tummy and healthy too

I, Peanut, a five pound mutt (the best) really like this stuff. That's fortunate for my human mom because she accidentally bought four cases instead of two.

Not for my pup

I’ve been having a really hard time finding food that my dog won’t get tired of. He used to devour this wet can for his first few bowls. I was so excited, I bought two more twelve-packs because chewy is the only place I can find it in bulk! Unfortunately, he seems disinterested in this now - after I bought so much haha. He sniffs and walks away. When he’s starving, he’ll eat some of it and leave most of it in the bowl. Ugh. I loved this brand because the ingredients! Looks like I’ve got to start over.

Not a fan this time

My puppy isn't a fan......I think the consistency of the product may be his problem. I've had to mix quite a bit of hard food in with this to get him to eat. We'll be trying a different puppy product - with a consistency of bits in gravy more likely.

Feeding Qty

I must have misread the nutrition info for a 50lb puppy. Instructions are for 1 can per 5lb of weight? That’s crazy! Even adding this to kibble the nutritional content is so low I’d rather have just put fresh cooked meat in. Fine for a snack but not for dietary needs. Very disappointed

PUPS LOVE IT

Our pups love this product. We reserve as special treat, encourage eating and administering meds. When serving this canned dog food the vegetables are visible and the aroma is pleasant.

loves the taste!

Oh my gosh..my gsd LOVES the taste of this! He literally would eat the entire pallet if I let him. I also feel good about it, because I do a lot of research on my dog's foods, and it's really one of the healthiest wet foods out there for dogs.
