While my dog isn't crazy about this brand of Kidney food at least she will eat it with a little help. All the vets I have spoken with say its difficult for the animals to eat, but we do want them to eat! I will be buying more. It doesn't smell like some of the others I have tried.
My boy is almost 15 years old. Has kidney failure. Before this I was feeding him a different dog food. He started having skin and ear problems. Signs of allergy. So I switched him over to blue. Week and half into it. He started drinking a lot, peeing in the house.waking up in the middle of the night to drink, and Vomiting. He's so sick. I'm going to switch him again.. Poor guy. Watch out for that if you do try to give this dog food.
BB Kidney care is safe. The lady from June 26th. Is over reacting.
This is a new dog food for Levi who has been eating Hills Prescription Kidney Care dog food for a couple of years and mostly waits to eat it until he is so hungry he has not choice! This Blue Buffalo was scarfed up immediately!
Our veterinarian recommended that we switch our dog to a food that will support him because he is in the beginning stages of kidney failure. We slowly transitioned him from Purina to this one. He had no issues switching and his blood work Ian’s urine came back slightly better than it was before we changed his food. I’ll continue to buy it.
But, my dog will not eat this food. Based on the reviews, I really had high hopes for this food. I know it is difficult to get any dog to eat Kidney Support diets in general; all of the "good stuff" has been reduced and they're not happy about it. But, since my chihuahua was already eating Blue Buffalo Senior Grain Free food, I hoped I could transition him. He literally went on a hunger strike and vet recommended I put him back on his Senior food for awhile.
Our elderly dog is a pretty picky dog. There's lots of food that he refuses to eat. He has enjoyed the Blue Buffalo KS Kidney Support Grain Free Dry Dog Food. Sometimes he gets tired of his food so we have to make changes occasionally.
