One of my cats has recently been diagnosed with kidney disease. I've tried 2 other prescription foods and he would eat them but very reluctantly. He was always a hardy eater until his diet had to be changed. Each time I've changed his food, I would wait 2-3 weeks to give him time to adjust. The final straw was when he was consistently leaving 1/3 of his serving daily. Thankfully, he loves this food; he eats every piece! I want to thank the wonderful customer service representative who went out of her way to get the approval needed from the veterinarian. She even called me back to let me know the order was being processed. The next day, my cat was enjoying his food! My only regret is that I didn't write down the name of this customer service representative....she was exceptional.
My older cat has the beginning stages of kidney disease so a prescription diet was recommended by my veterinarian. I tried a different brand of prescription diet product for the cat which he had a hard time liking so I also had to give him a appetite stimulant to make him eat enough so he wouldn't lose weight. I wanted to try something else hopefully that he would like so I switched to this Blue Buffalo k and M dry prescription diet and he absolutely loves it he goes through two bowls a day now with no appetite stimulant and has gained a few more ounces which is great since he's 17 years old. So I definitely will be buying this product again.
I think this food provides a lot that more traditional Kidney prescription diets do not offer. It has wonderful ingredients, and also addresses joint mobility...a bonus for sure. My cat, normally indifferent to food, fell on his first bowl with an appetite I haven't seen in a long time. Every bowl I have set out, he approaches with the same enthusiasm. The dogs (just about his size) circle around, hoping for a chance at the bowl or, at the very least, any of the tiny, tasty kibble he has left on the floor. It's "an event" when I fill the cat bowl now.
The vet prescribed this special cat food for Mittens. I have never dealt with Chewy but my daughter recommended it as she uses the website to order items for her dog and cat. It was quick and easy to use and arrived on time. Thank you
My cat was prescribed Kidney cat food and we first tried Hills k/d Kidney Care. My cat basically starved himself rather than eat that food. I did some research and discovered that many cats prefer Blue Buffalo. My cat rushes to eat this dry food. I highly recommend it.
Started our 8 year old adopted girl on this food since we caught early kidney disease in her. Since we’ve only had her for a year it’s been hard to figure out what she likes and what her temperament is like when she’s feeling good and since switching her to this food she’s like a kitten again! Thanks blue Buffalo and chewy!
We were already on Blue brand dry food when our cat was diagnosed with Stage 2 Kidney disease. The Blue Buffalo Veterinary diet smells great to him, and he gobbles it up. Thank you for making this an easy transition.
Our 19 year old Persian loves this food and we’ve seen such an improvement in him since we started it. We originally were feeding him Royal Cabin’s Kidney food but it was out of stock everywhere so I tried this food instead. He went from hiding under the bed most of the day to being around us all the time again. He moves so much better and hardly stumbles at all which was frequent before. He is also using a ramp to get on the bed which he never did before. We had his kidney levels tested and in a year they’ve barely changed. I absolutely recommend this food!
It can be challenging to find the right food for a senior cat with some health issues. She liked some bites of this first couple days, but since then it just sits and has not been palatable for her.
I read some reviews and was very worried that my cat would not like, but she definitely did. It's a high price to pay, but she's all I have.
