About BLUE Buffalo

Blue Buffalo began with unconditional love and some furry inspiration from a large breed Airedale, Blue. When Blue's family started a pet food company, their vision was clear. They wanted every pet parent to be able to feed their pet with the same care they would feed family. So they created the #1 natural pet specialty food to help furry family members live happy, healthy lives. Of course, they named it after Blue.

Finn loves it

Finn loves this alligator protein kibble ordered by our vet for suspected food allergies. Too soon to say if eating this will alleviate his itching but we are hopeful. If it works I would not hesitate to give it 4 stars. It's expensive, but so is Apoquel which was not effective for Finn and came with side effects I wasn't comfortable with.

Allergy Diet Trial

We ordered the Blue Buffalo NP at the recommendation of our vet. Buddy loved it the minute it arrived and tolerated the transition well. He will actually eat almost anything though, so the real test is finding out if his allergy symptoms retreat.

NO MORE CHEESE SMELL

We have a 6 year old "supposed to be a Pitbull but looks like an English Bulldog girl" that we rescued as a puppy. She has struggled with her weight and was on the diet turkey Blue Buffalo Basics. In the last 6 months or so we've noticed she sort of smelled like really good stinky cheese, which is great for cheese, not so much on a 98 lbs sweet dog . Our vet suggested the Alligator & while I was hesitant at first , I was really kind of over the smell. I was also told that she may not need her Citopoint shots which would offset the cost of the food. Well it's been 2 weeks, no more cheese smell at all. We will see in 2 months if she still needs the Citopoint. If not we are switching everyone to the Alligator.

Difficult Process

We like the food, but it’s extremely difficult to process a prescription order through Chewey.

Wish it had worked out

My dog who has food allergies liked this food as long as I added a little warm water. It is very expensive and when 1st bag was almost gone ordered a second which I havent opened because he is allergic to something in it.

Dog loves it.

First thing in the morning my dog is ready to eat, which has not been the case when on another companys Alligator formula. Also her stool used to still be a bit soft. I thought it was because of too much beans in their food. Don't change your food.

Cockerspaniel so far so good

My boy is allergic to chicken, beef, and most likely corn and soy. So far no issues, and no itching! Trying it on his food trial. I am concerned with the grain free issue, bc dogs can develop dilated cardio myopathy, so far no signs! Will update soon. Giving 4 stars for now!
