  • Perhaps a little less dust than the other Blue Buffalo walnut litters.

    By on

I have tried two other Blue Buffalo walnut litters (not the scented ones, but the ones in the green and red bags). I buy them because they are the best alternative to clay I have found. I always have a little difficulty figuring out why the different products are different from each other. I decided to try this one and it looks and works about the same. Perhaps a little less dust. Note, these litters are not dust free. I vacuum fine brown dust off the white baseboards near the litter box on a regular basis. As a litter, my cat loves it and it clumps reasonably well as long as you remove the urine balls gently. The urine balls do fall apart so you might find it takes a little extra scooping I have tried two other Blue Buffalo walnut litters (not the scented ones, but the ones in the green and red bags). • BEST LITTER YET!!

I have tried two other versions of this litter in the same brand but the yellow bag has surpassed the others by a long shot . I almost didn't try it , but I thought well the return policy with chewy is excellent so I gave it a shot and I'm glad I did . I wanted something more natural, and I HAD been using pine pellets but for some reason the smell factor just stopped working, and I only have one cat ! Unsure if it was the brand or the quality ... Anyways , tried this stuff and I'm very happy with it. It has a fresh smell to it, however it is not as dust free as it is marketed to be . You have to pour it in slow or it makes a cloud or dust and twice now a little speck of the dust has gotten in my eye and it was very irritating and hard to find in my eye with a light. I now use a cup to scoop and gently pour it into the box without an issue . We have had issues with our cat getting upper respiratory infections and sneezing because of the highly artificially scented cat litters and dust....but I will say that nothing about it smells fake and the dust is lower than your typical clay litter . The consistency is not sharp like other broken pellet / other natural litters . It seems easy on the paws and our cat took to it immediately. I've been so busy at work I just realized I probably haven't scooped the litter box in 3-4 days and I can't smell anything . I even asked my mother when she came in and believe me we are all clean people! Lol , it is easy to forget about because it keeps doors down so well. … more

  • LOVE this litter

I think everyone who owns a cat is used that clay litter smell. You know what I'm talking about. You open the bag or container and pour the clean clay litter into the pan while watching the dust waft up and you smell it. It has a distinct smell but once your kitty does it's business, it REALLY has that "distinct" smell. The Blue Buffalo walnut litter offers it's own distinct smell and it smells like a walnut shell. Go sniff a walnut. That's what this litter smells like. It's clean, there is no dust wafting up, and it controls the stinkiest of odors. It clumps but the clumps are soft, not totally solid like using a clay litter. • Best litter I've found

The Blue Buffalo Naturally Fresh litters are the only ones I like to use. I use this one and the regular multi-cat litter they make. I have used them for several years now, and every time I try anything else, I just don't like it. It has very little dust, less tracking than most litters, and virtually no scent of its own. Although it doesn't clump as hard as clay litters, it absorbs odors incredibly well. I have four cats in a less than 1000 square foot townhome with four boxes--two upstairs and two down. As long as I scoop them not even daily, freshen them with a little extra litter weekly, and change them out completely every month or so, people come in my house and remark that they can't smell The Blue Buffalo Naturally Fresh litters are the only ones I like to use. It is also much lighter weight than many litters, which makes it much easier to get the used litter to the dumpster. I don't recommend anything else. … more

  • Chewys is the Best

    By on

When I adopted my cat the ASPCA recommended a natural clumping litter. I had heard it was healthier for cats and they confirmed. I prefer this litter to Worlds Best because Worlds Best smells disgusting even before cats use it. I have 2 cats and never had a problem.

  • Can't go without it!

    By on

Can't tell people enough to stay away from clay litter and come to the light side of natural litters and this is the first litter I recommend and they never go back! It's affordable, long lasting, and actually covers all my kitten's poop (which is a lot) on top of my adult cat's. I also love that it's biodegradable. This litter has also had the least amount of tracking of any litter that I've used.

  • Great odor control

    By on

Have not yet put it in the litter box as I have previous litter to use up. I have however switched from using many little plastic bags for the dog and cats and putting them in the garbage can daily. I scoop the indoor waste into a covered waste basket lined with a little newspaper on the bottom and pour a little scoop of Naturally Fresh over it. Outside, I scoop the dog waste into a similar waste basket and cover it with this litter as well. Little or no smell in either case. The previous method was really awful. The garbage can stunk, even from a distance. Ready to fill the litter box with this and give my stock of other litter away.

  • Very pleased

I love this product. Very little dust or odor. And I am very happy with Chewys customer service. My previous bag of litter had been damaged in shipping. FedEx notified me and Chewy and when I emailed about it they immediately got a new bag out on the road.

  • Better than clay

    By on

Switched my cat to Blue Buffalo walnut from a pine/corn litter after she was diagnosed with asthma and walnut was recommended as a low dust/irritant litter. We've been using this litter for at least one year now. The low dust and minimal tracking is a definite plus when is comes to this litter. The odor control and clumping factor isn't as great when compared to other litters but overall isn't bad. We will continue to use it.

  • This stuff rocks

    By on

Five cats, one huge litter box in a small house. The cats love this litter. I love this litter. I scoop at least twice a day. The liquid is absorbed into easily scoopable chunks, the solids are neutralized within a few mins, no poop odor. There is no dust and very little tracking. One bag lasts for almost two weeks with five cats using it, three are kittens and kittens poop a lot. The litter is unscented but has a subtle, woodsie, nutty scent that is pleasant but can only be notice when scooping. My house does not smell like a used litter box or like scented litter. This is great stuff.
