About Blue Buffalo
The Blue Buffalo story started with a beloved Airedale named Blue, whose family wanted to feed him the best pet food possible. After searching for high-quality options, they decided to create their own food using natural ingredients, real meat first and only the highest standards. That promise still drives them to seek out the healthiest ways to feed and nurture pets, and it lives on every time you fill your pet’s bowl with BLUE.
My dog has been on this dog food for a long time, finally found something that works for her that she likes the taste of and then they have to go and change the recipe. She’s been trying it for a month and she’s not adjusting to it the new formula gives her awful diarrhea and she’s been making choking noises. So ridiculous, why change something that works. Now I’m going to have to go to the trouble of finding a new grain free dog food for her that she will eat.
Did the formula change on this? My dog has been eating it for a few years now. 3 weeks ago we received our autoship of it and she has been regurgitating after every feeding since then. Last night I gave her a different food to try and it has been 24 hours without any regurgitation? I definitely will have to switch dog foods.
We were so happy when we found this product with the original recipe. The new recipe with "healthy grains" is such a huge disappointment. It did not agree with our dogs at all - terrible stomach gurgling and excessive gas. We switched to another grain free brand which is agreeing with them beautifully. Too bad because we were long time customers.
Our 4+ golden has been on the old formula for 3 years. We went a week mixing the old formula with the new and our golden seemed ok. But after we started 100% on the new formula he started gagging and convulsing immediately after eating. Now for the 3rd night he has been vomiting.. so we have to transition to a new food. We will mix some Science diet ID canned with the new food and see how that goes. We won’t be using this one again.
After the change to this formula, my dog has gotten so sick. He has been throwing up and having diarrhea. Be sure to give it a second thought before purchasing this product. It has not been good for our dog and many others.
My dogs have been on the original recipe for the last 7 years. Since switching to the new formula, they have been vomiting with horrendous gas and diarrhea. I have always loved this food, but we have decided to switch to a different diet. Thank you to Chewy for hearing our concerns regarding this product.
Mu dogs like the food. But when they're finished, they leave many of the tiny Life Source bits on the floor. If they were a little bigger, maybe they would clean up the bits. It's annoying. My dogs scratch a lot after chicken, so its great to have an alternative they like.
Horrible !! My pit had been eating blue fro over 4 years. Now this new recipe is making her have runny bowl movements !! Look at the photo attached!! Every cup of food I get has an extremely amount of powder !!
I basically have the same story as everyone in this thread. Feeding 9 year old American bulldog/pit bull the prior recipe and since we switched both her and my 2 yr old staffordshire can't stop puking. I'm going to try the grain free chicken recipe that's worked years ago, wish us luck
Got the last two bags of original at the commissary. I have no idea what I am going to do now. She had been acting strange the last month. She would lay behind the chair, which she never does. Acted moody. Vomited twice. She has been on the original all her life. I will be back to hunting for dog food.
