At what age do you consider a large breed dog a “senior”?

The age for when a senior diet like this is appropriate will vary depending on your dog's activity level. Around the age of 6 or 7 you may start to notice changes in eating, energy, or body weight that signifies your dog is in his senior years. You can always check with your vet to confirm for your specific dog.
Are any of the ingredients coming from China?

Blue Buffalo sources as many ingredients as possible from the U.S. Most of their grains and meats come from the USA. There are occasions when they source meat from other countries. For example, the lamb can be free range from the USA, Australia or New Zealand. When the ingredients are not readily available in the U.S., such as vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, their suppliers work with only reputable foreign companies, and subject all ingredients to rigorous quality testing. None of their meats or grains are sourced from China. All of their ingredients are USDA or FDA approved and inspected as applicable.
Can you give me a guesstimate as to how many regular measuring cups are in a 24# bag. Trying to estimate how often to order. Thank you.

There will be approximately 4 cups per pound of kibble. The 4.5 pound bag will have close to 18 cups, the 11 pound bag close to 44 cups and the 24 pound bag close to 96 cups.

The BEST grain free dry food ever!

My dogs have been on this dry diet for a decade, however when one of them died, I did not need the large bag anymore. Since you do not carry the smaller size I bought it elsewhere. Last month I adopted another dog and now I need the larger bag again. In fact, it's time t reorder!! I am so happy to be back with Chewy!

LOVE LOVE LOVE

Jessie was having an anal gland problem and the vet recommended more fiber I checked different brands and Blue Buffalo Wilderness had just what we needeed. One month in and no problems Also raw organic string beans as treats!

Changed my dogs appetite

When my dog passed away last year my other dog took it extremely hard, they were brothers and grew up together. He quit eating, even though he never let his food or his brothers for that matter sit for any amount of time before completely demolishing it, he was such a good eater, then my dog died unexpectedly from a brain tumor we didn't know he had and my dog completely stopped doing everything he use to, we tried different foods to get him to eat and once he became a senior it became harder to get him to get interested in food again until we tried this, it's expensive for us but he loves it and now eats three meals a day, he's a 100lb 7 year old Labrador so he needs about 6 cups a day and was averaging one if that when my other dog died, and now he's finally eating, so whatever it is thank you blue buffalo you saved my dog

Pea sized kibble ending up all over the floor.

I have four large dogs, 7, 8, 10 and 11. We buy the hard food and it's made a tremendous difference in all of the dogs. They are a lot healthier and have beautiful coats. The only problem I have with your dry food is the pea sized bits of kibble end up all over my floor. My dogs all have healthy teeth so that's not the problem, I've never encountered a problem like this before with any dry food I've had over the years. Any thoughts or suggestions on this cuz I don't want to switch brands?

Great product

My dog has quite a few intestinal problems and has been on many different vet suggested diets. She did not do well and I tried this and it is easy on the stomach, she likes the taste and does well on this. She mostly eats the canned , same-brand senior recipe but also loves the kibble.

Package was late! Had to purchase somewhere else until food arrived.

We counted on our dog food arriving on the 18th - it didn't. We had to purchase additional food until it arrived - which was a day late. Unacceptable.

This food was one of the few that I could find that has less fat. I had to find a food that helped my furkid not have another Pancreatitis flare up.

my schnauzer loves this food

I put my 13 year old schnauzer on a senior diet recently and this is the first one I tried. Due to her teeth I do have to moisten this food first, but I have to do that with any hard food, but she eats it excitedly and always cleans her bowl. No digestive issues at all. Haven’t noticed any changes in activity levels or such but she always has a youthful puppy attitude which hasn’t changed. Her skin and coat are still unchanged but we also never had issues with those either.

My picky dog loves this!

My 9 yr old big dog has developed diabetes! I looked at so much really outrageously expensive food. Someone sent me a list and this senior food was on it. Maxwell loves it and in 15 days looks like a young dog again. So happy!
