The True BLUE Promise
BLUE is formulated with only the finest natural ingredients:
Always features protein-rich real meat
NO chicken (or poultry) by-product meals
NO corn, wheat or soy
My dog loves these and they help her teeth. However, Blue has changed the recipe several times over the years, and this new formula tends to upset her stomach. Also, the large seem less porous than the small or medium - which is weird; would like them to be consistent. I would also like to see Blue dental chews without Gelatin or dairy.
I've been very happy with most Blue products but my dog swallowed large pieces (1-1/2") of these treats and couldn't digest them. She threw up after eating them several times before I figured it out. She does not usually have a sensitive stomach.
Beau, the Saint Bernard, recently had a teeth cleaning and so we purchased these bones to help step up his dental care, in addition to brushing. The 10oz bag contains 5 bones that were small for a Saint, and he finished it in about 5 minutes. He is not a fast chewer of bones. Honestly, it doesn't seem long or large enough to clean his teeth very much for the cost and size.
We have a two year old lab with a sensitive stomach. We changed her food to no chicken and no grains and she had been doing much better. Tried to use these treats as a substitute as it is grain free and no chicken, but she threw up after the first bone. Tried just giving her a piece of one another day, threw up again. Dont recommend
Titan and Raven love them thank you, will buy again !
Our dog loves these. He will take it and run to his place so he can enjoy it a line.
My dogs loved these. Shadow is a bit pucky but she took this and ate it right away. Normally she sniffs and just lets other dental sticks lay where i put them and eat them only when Riley looks at her to see if shes going to leave it.
My Boy (160 lbs) loves them
My dog has a skin allergy and can't eat poultry, so the ingredient list gets a thumbs up from me. I gave it three stars, however, because I bought these assuming they would be a bit "heartier" and force my dog to take more time to chew them - ha! I would say they added...maybe a minute or two?...onto the chewing time. Also, my dog is a little over 50lbs and these bones were borderline too small/a choking risk. If your dog is 60lbs+ DO NOT BUY - they will swallow them whole. Lastly, unlike other Blue Buffalo treats (ie. the dental bones) these don't break into pieces as they chew, they kinda explode into small, wet pieces which are gross to clean up.
A favorite treat for my husky and they help to keep her teeth clean. They are large in size so you might want to check out the smaller size ones if you want to control how much you give your dog and don't want to struggle with snapping them in two (which can also produce a sharp chewing edge).
