I have to say that I am impressed
I've been looking at dozens of enclosures for my rapidly growing snakes. I decided that I would give this one a try because if it wasn't good, I would have only lost $200+. I could not have made this PVC enclosure myself for less money. There were a couple hard to see dings, but this is a good looking enclosure. I was also worried about the plastic sliding doors, but again they are definitely acceptable. The plastic is very thick, and I have no worries about my boa getting out. It also included a sliding lock that works great. I went to a different sight for my bottom heater and light. The light is a UV5 that I screwed into the top of the enclosure myself. There are two notches toward the top of the enclosure to run the electrical lines. I bought a bottom heater that comes with a PVS cover that I screwed down to the bottom. My enclosure did not come with screws, but the holes are predrilled. I used 1 1/2 " drywall screws to keep the enclosure together. I added the light and bottom heater before I completed the assembly to make access easier. I used small 3/4 screws to install the bottom heater with PVS cover and 1/2 inch screws to attach the light to the top of the enclosure. The plastic sliding plastic glass comes with rails that have adhesive on the back. They are more that adequate for keeping the rails in place. Just remember the thicker railing goes on top. The kit came with some silicone to make the corners waterproof, and I also used it on the PVC that went over the bottom heater to keep moister out. Unless you are going with a higher quality vision enclosure, the enclosure fits the bill at this point for me for my snakes that require a 36 inch enclosure. I'll get my vision enclosures once my retic and Burmese exceed 6 feet. Again, this enclosure is a great value.
My kid was gifted 2 from my friend to replace her bulky standard tanks since these stack. Screws, stacking pegs, and sealant were all included. I thought these would be sufficient but nothing to write a review about but here I am. We installed 2 radient panels in each; a primary and a back up that we keep unplugged should we need to supplement for the lowered temp of the room during an outage (she has her own back up power pack specifically for the animals). We also attached a rechargable magnetic light panel inside. Temp/humidity management has been a piece of cake. Definitely a LOT better than I had anticipated.
Very easy to put together and set up. I swapped the doors out for glass doors I had from a previous enclosure - the included doors (acrylic plastic) collect a lot of dust and suck out some of the humidity through the vents. There are a few holes along the top back of the enclosure to thread in wires for heating elements and probes, and the enclosure itself holds humidity and heat well otherwise. The built-in thermometer/hygrometer is nice for monitoring ambient temps. Overall I really like it, and my ball python seems to approve!
I’m already on my second cage and I’m deeply in love. Definitely great for my bearded dragon and boa collection. I was able to instal lighting myself but overall amazing cage for the babies
It works sufficiently
Very expensive for craftsmanship and materials. You must assemble completely. Many screws, and a lot of sealing. They don't include enough sealer. More delicate than I imagined for such a large price.
Once it's all together it's pretty cool, dark though, figuring out lighting and heating was/is a bit of a challenge, and frustrating. But for the price it works out. Once I figure out how to safely light it I will consider if I should have just paid more for an enclosure that had that part already thought out, or get another one for stacking reasons. Can only stack more of its type, so I'm hoping I can make it all work. I loved that it was not a two month wait for it like most other stackable enclousures, I received it within a week, and it's a fraction of the cost of others of this type.
I loved it. The price is great for what it is. Real simple to put together took like 10 mins. The only thing I wish is that it was a bit taller. Other than that I would definitely recommend.
If you’re debating it, go for it!
I was really worried when I read the other reviews, but I’m so glad I bought it. It’s a great enclosure. I took a while putting it together, but that’s expected with a pvc enclosure(just play some youtube videos in the background!). It came with all the parts required to put it together(I had a couple leftover nails), as well as silicone to seal the bottom. The instructions are very simple. The damage on the pvc parts are barely anything at all, just small dents on corners from shipping. It doesn’t impact the sturdiness/ look of the enclosure. There are some pvc/ acrylic particles from the cutting. Just use basic caution when removing the plastic wrapping. I didn’t use gloves and I didn’t cut myself at all. But I would still recommend gloves to be careful. And vacuum after. Overall a good purchase. The fact that chewy holds ready to ship boamasters is incredible, it removes half the hassle from getting a great PVC enclosure for your reptiles. And its at a price that is impossible to beat(without expecting 6+ month build times). I definitely plan on getting more from here in the future.
Cage sliding doors
The doors are easily to knock off an busted the sliding rail for the door my 6month old ball python got out took both doors down if you buy this cage make sure you find a better way to secure the doors from being knocked off or broken.
Two pieces where too long and no vents on back. Had to cut and modify the two pieces to make them work. The first one i ordered was perfect, second one not so much.
