My review is similar to one written on 6/23/22 by Hazelsmom. I am very disappointed in the bones I received. I ordered 4 of the one pictured which is not wrapped, is lighter in color and has a lot of chunky pieces attached which my dogs love. The ones I got are wrapped on plastic, darker in color and don't have the crunchy pieces on the outside. I haven't ordered them in quite a while so I am thinking Chewy isn't getting the unwrapped ones anymore. If so they need to take them off the website. I will have to try and find the ones I like for the dogs somewhere else which is kind of a hassle for me.
I have a 4 month old large breed puppy (already 40 pounds!). He is a hunting breed, so his energy level is off the charts. Getting a bit of quiet time without him being everywhere all at once seemed impossible. This large knuckle bone did the trick! An evening of quiet turns out to cost under $6! Will buy again!
I originally gave these five stars on another review. I have bought 4 and of the 4 one was awesome. The other two were moldy and fell easily and my dogs were getting chunks off and swallowing them. I had to grab and throw away fast. The first one I bought is still going strong. Very durable and they can just scrape off shavings of bone marrow slowly. So 1 out of 4 isn’t good quality control. I’m sad because I thought I had hit the jackpot with a quality bone to keep the dogs busy.
Bought 3. First 2 was fine gave the last one and my labrador was able to break into chunks. He about died from the blockage. He spent 3 nights in a animal ER. No surgery was needed thank God. 2500 dollars later he survived. Not worth the risk chewy.
My papillon loves these bones. The size of the bone is larger than her head but she has no trouble with it. Unfortunately, it makes her have very potent gas and it gives her diarrhea. I’m disappointed because it lasts about a week. I’ll have to find something else for her to chew. She doesn’t like bully sticks. I purchased beef trachea and she loves those but it’s gone in about 5 minutes. Would love some recommendations for something I can replace them with that will last longer.
Our Labrador retriever enjoys the Knuckle Bone dog treat. I let him chew for 15 minutes at a time. Extended chewing causes him to have intestinal upset. It is good if you supervise your dog.
The beef hock I find to be the best bones for my German Shepherd family of 7, my dog's really enjoy them the best and they are made in USA, the only down fall is the price which I feel to be very expensive.
My big super chewer Golden demolished this in no time. Small fragments were swallowed and one stuck in her throat. This caused her intestinal distress and vomiting. I won’t be giving her this item again and don’t recommend it.
My 3 dogs loved this item. It lasted them a couple of months too. The only adverse event was when one was chewed through, into a horseshoe shape, and got temporarily stuck on my boys lower jaw. I was able to gently pry it off, thankfully.
Both my German Shepherds love these. The bones are normally a good size, sometimes when I order a few at once, like 10 or so, there's a couple small ones that won't last long at all. However, I just learned that ****THESE BONES ARE COOKED**** and that is cause for concern. I haven't seen any issues with them yet but I don't think I'll be buying these anymore.
