I have a 7 month old German Shepherd and he loves to chew, so finding something that is sturdy but won't break the bank is a chore. He has a much larger horn that is a challenge to him, but it hollow. So I thought this would be fun for him and lasting. It may be decently lasting, but after he coughed up a decent sized rectangular bit with a little blood on it, I trashed it. So, for land sharks, pass on these.
These were awfully, my dog basically ate the whole thing and was vomiting up SHARDS of bone. Do not recommend.
Once again my aggressive chewer has chewed one end into small pieces until I don't feel comfortable with her continuing to have it.
I've bought filled horns at the pet store before. These are much better on our pupper's stomach (he's got a sensitive stomach, and he's an extreme chewer). Noticed that they didnt smell as bad either as the ones at the pet store.
I’ve gotten my heavy chewers non stuffed water buffalo horns a few times and still have them floating around a year later with half left but these were chipping into sharp pieces in minutes. I was very disappointed I didn’t even let my dogs keep eating them and tossed them because I was worried about the pieces breaking off.
All my dogs took turns stealing this from each other to lick out the filling
My two children loved these !! I have recommended to several friends
To the review that said the horn must be bad because it smelled bad. Not true all the buffalo horns do smell bad. It is the natural smell from them. If you can over look the smell dogs seem to love them and the last a long time. A trade off for a lasting product i guess.
Always looking for natural long-lasting treats for our dogs. This one splinters easily with strong jaws, and didn't last as long as I'd hoped.
I used to love these bones as well as my dogs but all 6 are filled of mold. Last order we had 1 that was moldy and I had to toss. Never again.
