    This litter is amazing

By Spoopy on Oct 2, 2020

I'm only deducting one star since my cats get it all over. It does have dust, but not nearly as bad as it was with other brands. It's lightweight for my old girl with arthritis and I find it easier to clean the clumps than other hard clumping litter. I recommend this to anyone at their wits end. After one day of use I thought something was dead in my basement.

By Steve on Oct 10, 2020

After one day of use I thought something was dead in my basement. The litter was the best dust free I have ever used it clumped amazing. Now the bad the smell was so overwhelming and the boxes for my cats were clean. So in under 24 hours It had all been tossed in the garbage.

    Dusty, didn't clump well

    By on

This cat litter was pretty dusty in my opinion. I have asthma and could not work with this cat litter because it would trigger an attack. It also did not Clump well. It just soaked up the urine and turned into a wet clay. I would not buy it again.

Much. More Dust Than Blue Bag

    By on

I've bought this version of Boxicat in stores previously, liked it, and thought I'd save $ ordering through Chewy. Sadly, the double bag of the Extra Strength (Red bag) unleashed a cloud of respiratory irritating dust that was reactivated with each scoop. Granules must be crushed in warehouse or in transit, but definitely Not dust free or low-dust. Better off with the Regular (Blue bag) than this. I May use the remaining product to sop up oil spills or the like, but cannot use in litter box without dust mask.

Low dust but no odor control

    By on

I bought the unscented regular Boxiecat litter in the past and had no issues with odor. I thought I would try the Extra Strength version. I'm very disappointed that it does not control the odor but I am happy with the low dust feature. I may try the original Boxiecat, but I think I may go back to using Dr. Easley's again. I'm not happy with the dust; but at least it controlled the odor.

    Not great and pricey

    By on

This litter was recommended to me by a vet. I liked the idea of it however I only have 1 cat and used extra strength and odor around litter box was bad after a few days. I used air fresheners etc but not much better. I’m switching brands just tovexpensive for what you get.

    Definitely Not Worth the Money

    By on

I'm surprised by some of the good reviews this litter has gotten. This litter does not perform any better than grocery store litter, in my opinion. The clumps break apart, which makes it much harder to scoop, and I see no other tangible differences in tracking or odor control. The one positive is that there is not a lot of dust. However, you can get much cheaper litters that are also low on dust, but clump much better. I would suggest that you save your money and buy something else, like Dr. Elsey's litter.

Clumps well but has a an odor after a few days

    By on

This litter does clump very well which is nice! What I don't like is that after the cats (I have 3) used it for a few days the litter in the box started to have a stinky odor. I compared this litter side by side with my old one and the old one still smells fresh but this one smells like dirty litter box even when it's scooped clean. Also, when it says cats love it... they do but mine play in it and send litter everywhere (imagine a dog in a sandbox!!) whereas they don't do that in the old litter. Even though it clumps so well the other downsides have me sticking to my old litter after this bag is finished.

    Unimpressed with this expensive litter.

    By on

I heard great things from a friend about Boxiecat litter, so I was really excited to try it. I've tried each formula hoping I'd find the magic product - but I will not buy any of them again. It is definitely not as dusty as other brands, but I was unimpressed with the odor control for feces, although it did trap the urine smell pretty well. My cats tracked it all around the litter boxes and was very difficult to scoop out if the pee-clump was against the side of the box (it was pretty much cemented to the litter box).
