FAQ

Why is Bravo making canned foods?

At Bravo we’ve always believed in simplicity, quality and choice. Our new Feline Cafe™ line provides high-quality, simple limited-ingredient formulas for those pet parents who prefer to feed canned foods.

Are these new products raw?

No, all of our Feline Cafe products are cooked. However, like our raw diet products, they are made with quality muscle meats and poultry and contain no fillers, preservatives, artificial flavors or meat and poultry meal or grain.

Do they have the same nutritional benefits as a raw diet?

It’s really difficult to compare canned foods to raw, as they are 2 totally different products. All of the Feline Cafe™ products meet the AAFCO standards of complete and balanced nutrition for all life stages.

Do I need to add anything to these products (i.e., supplements, fish oil, etc.)?

All of the Feline Cafe™ products meet the AAFCO standards for complete and balanced nutrition for all life stages right out of the can. We recommend you print the nutritional information about the canned product you are interested in and share it with your veterinarian or animal nutritionist to determine if also feeding any supplements is right for your cat.

Can I heat these products?

Our Feline Cafe™ products are ready to serve right from the can, but can be warmed slightly if that is what your dog/cat prefers. Do not heat the food in the can. We suggest you transfer it to a microwave safe bowl or dish for heating in the microwave or a pan for gentle heating on the stove. Do not overheat/overcook and feed a hot food to your dog or cat - always try to bring it back to room temperature before serving. Please refrigerate any unused/unheated portions in an airtight container.

My dog/cat tried this product and they refused it, what can I do?

Did you introduce the product to your dog/cat slowly? Sometimes new food needs to be introduced slowly. We suggest mixing small amounts with your dog/cat’s current food to see how they do and slowly increase the amounts over time until you reach the full portion amount.

Can I refrigerate unused portions of this product? If so, how should it be stored? How long is the product good for once opened?

Refrigerating unused portions of your canned food in an airtight container is recommended. We suggest you feed any unused portions within 3 - 4 days.

Are the ingredients all from the USA? (Anything made from ingredients sourced in China)?

Bravo never ever sources ingredients from China. We source our ingredients from reputable suppliers in the USA and countries other than China.

Are they GMO free?

We use ingredients known to be GMO free.

Are they organic?

No, they are not, but they are made from high-quality, reputably-sourced ingredients.

Do they contain antibiotics or hormones?

No, Bravo products are always made from clean meats and poultry, which means no added antibiotics. There are no added hormones in any of the poultry. Federal law allows the use of hormones when raising beef or lamb so we can’t guarantee that the farmer did not use medicinal hormones when the animal was raised.

Why would you put cranberries and greens in cat food?

There will always be differing schools of thought when it comes to feeding and ingredients. For us, the use of cranberries and dandelion greens allowed us to keep the formulas simple, natural and healthy. The evidence suggests cranberries assist with urinary tract issues/health in cats and dandelions are beneficial for liver issues in cats.

  • good quality but, NOT shredded/minced food!

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

says "Delicious shreds of duck, turkey and turkey liver are the first ingredients", yet there are no shred pieces to be found, all a very smooth pate with little texture! Someone in the Answer & question area asked if this was shred or pate, answer received stated this was 'minced' so i gathered there was going to be small pieces of shredded minced meat in this food but, nope, it is just a mushy pate that isn't totally filling up can plus some liquid on bottom.. definitely a misleading food description that has resulted in a pricey food not liked by my cat's whom normally love turkey & duck food but, are not fond of non textured pate's that are like baby food at all so they won't eat it! grrrr says "Delicious shreds of duck, turkey and turkey liver are the first ingredients", yet there are no shred pieces to be found, all a very smooth pate with little texture! • It could be terrific food, but mine want nothing to do with it.

The headline really says it all. I bought this food because it's supposed to be one of the healthier ones, but my two want nothing whatsoever to do with it. I bought a case and opened just one can....

  • Don’t have the cats yet BUT

    By on

I’m in the middle of rescuing 2 kitties from our high kill county animal control. My county shelter helped me get them out of there but until they finish blood tests, neutering etc, they have to stay in quarantine (but being loved on) at our wonderful shelter. Thus, I don’t know if they like the food yet. However, being they’ve only known dry food, I’m willing to bet this will be 5 STAR for them. The other flavors I got I’ll hold off reviewing until kitties come home & have some. As for delivery, lighting fast- just a couple dented cans in one case. Easy tracking. I know others that use Chewy and they highly recommend.

  • Cecil loves it!

    By on

Cecil loves it! Just remember that it is recommended not to refrigerate leftover foods in cans. Once a can is opened, residual metal on the rim can leach into food and leave a metallic taste.

  • Cat likes it, but seems to need more

    By on

My cat really likes the taste of this food, and I really like the ingredients. There must be a difference in how the number of calories is determined between our previous food and this one, though, because my cat seems to need more food to feel full now. There was only a difference of less than 10 calories per can, but in reality it seems much less filling. Still really happy with it, though!

  • My cats LOVE this

    By on

My two picky cats gobbled this up immediately, without the usual hesitation they show when introduced to new foods. It has become an instant household favorite.

  • Neither of my cats will touch it.

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

I have been trying this product for about 2 weeks now to no avail. My 2 along with several of my outside (ferals) will not touch it. Everything that goes out goes in the bin! Rare for both of my boys to dislike something -- they are chalk and cheese in every way including food preferences. For price like this I would have hoped it would be more palatable and this was my first try with giving them Bravo. Cannot recommend due to the price and lack of appeal to any of my lot. Two stars because the ingredients look good but again, useless if cats don't like it.

  • this is NOT SHREDS

    By on

Both my cats are on grain free diets because of IBD. They will not eat mushy pâté and once again, Bravo and Chewy have listed this very costly item as "shreds." Please stop wasting our time and get your descriptions right!

  • Kitty loves this food!

I have offered this food to my younger cat, and so far she loves it! I love the ingredients. The food has a good consistency and a good smell. I think Bravo has done a nice job.
