Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Bravo making canned foods?
At Bravo we’ve always believed in simplicity, quality and choice. Our new Feline Cafe™ line provides high-quality, simple limited-ingredient formulas for those pet parents who prefer to feed canned foods.
Are these new products raw?
No, all of our Feline Cafe products are cooked. However, like our raw diet products, they are made with quality muscle meats and poultry and contain no fillers, preservatives, artificial flavors or meat and poultry meal or grain.
Do they have the same nutritional benefits as a raw diet?
It’s really difficult to compare canned foods to raw, as they are 2 totally different products. All of the Feline Cafe™ products meet the AAFCO standards of complete and balanced nutrition for all life stages.
Do I need to add anything to these products (i.e., supplements, fish oil, etc.)?
All of the Feline Cafe™ products meet the AAFCO standards for complete and balanced nutrition for all life stages right out of the can. We recommend you print the nutritional information about the canned product you are interested in and share it with your veterinarian or animal nutritionist to determine if also feeding any supplements is right for your cat.
Can I heat these products?
Our Feline Cafe™ products are ready to serve right from the can, but can be warmed slightly if that is what your dog/cat prefers. Do not heat the food in the can. We suggest you transfer it to a microwave safe bowl or dish for heating in the microwave or a pan for gentle heating on the stove. Do not overheat/overcook and feed a hot food to your dog or cat - always try to bring it back to room temperature before serving. Please refrigerate any unused/unheated portions in an airtight container.
My dog/cat tried this product and they refused it, what can I do?
Did you introduce the product to your dog/cat slowly? Sometimes new food needs to be introduced slowly. We suggest mixing small amounts with your dog/cat’s current food to see how they do and slowly increase the amounts over time until you reach the full portion amount.
Can I refrigerate unused portions of this product? If so, how should it be stored? How long is the product good for once opened?
Refrigerating unused portions of your canned food in an airtight container is recommended. We suggest you feed any unused portions within 3 - 4 days.
Are the ingredients all from the USA? (Anything made from ingredients sourced in China)?
Bravo never ever sources ingredients from China. We source our ingredients from reputable suppliers in the USA and countries other than China.
Are they GMO free?
We use ingredients known to be GMO free.
Are they organic?
No, they are not, but they are made from high-quality, reputably-sourced ingredients.
Do they contain antibiotics or hormones?
No, Bravo products are always made from clean meats and poultry, which means no added antibiotics. There are no added hormones in any of the poultry. Federal law allows the use of hormones when raising beef or lamb so we can’t guarantee that the farmer did not use medicinal hormones when the animal was raised.
Why would you put cranberries and greens in cat food?
There will always be differing schools of thought when it comes to feeding and ingredients. For us, the use of cranberries and dandelion greens allowed us to keep the formulas simple, natural and healthy. The evidence suggests cranberries assist with urinary tract issues/health in cats and dandelions are beneficial for liver issues in cats.
