Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Bravo making canned foods?

At Bravo we’ve always believed in simplicity, quality and choice. Our new Canine Cafe and Feline Cafe lines provide high - quality, simple limited - ingredient formulas for those pet parents who prefer to feed canned foods.

Are these new products raw?

No, all of our Canine and Feline Cafe products are cooked. However, like our raw diet products, they are made with quality muscle meats and poultry and contain no fillers, preservatives, artificial flavors or meat and poultry meal or grain.

Can I heat these products?

Our Canine Cafe and Feline Cafe products are ready to serve right from the can, but can be warmed slightly if that is what your dog/cat prefers. Do not heat the food in the can. We suggest you transfer it to a microwave safe bowl or dish for heating in the microwave or a pan for gentle heating on the stove. Do not overheat/overcook and feed a hot food to your dog or cat - always try to bring it back to room temperature before serving. Please refrigerate any unused/unheated portions in an airtight container.

Are the ingredients all from the USA? (Anything made from ingredients sourced in China)?

Bravo never ever sources ingredients from China. We source our ingredients from reputable suppliers in the USA and countries other than China. You can find Country of Origin information for all of our products by visiting the respective Canine Cafe and Feline Cafe product pages.

Are they GMO free?

All of our Feline Cafe formulas have all of the essential vitamins and minerals, including added taurine. The amount of taurine meets the requirement for complete and balanced for all life stages.

Can I feed them to a puppy (kitten)?

All of our Canine Cafe and Feline Cafe products are suitable for all life stages. Please see our feeding guide for serving sizes, although it is typically suggested to let puppies and kittens eat as much as they need in the early stages.

Do they contain antibiotics or hormones?

No, Bravo products are always made from clean meats and poultry, which means no added antibiotics. There are no added hormones in any of the poultry. I thought raw was supposed to be better for my dog/cat?

What to feed one’s companion animals is a very personal choice. There are those pet parents who are passionate about feeding raw, while others prefer to feed a canned option. Our new canned food lines provide all of those benefits to pet parents who prefer to feed canned foods as we do to those pet parents who prefer to feed raw.

  • Chunky freeze-dried food

    By on

I looked at all the major freeze-dried dog foods and this was the only one I saw, which is reconstituted, that has chunks of meat. The rest were all curmbly and powdery...resulting in something akin to oatmeal paste when reconstituted. I didn't want the mess of a paste end product, but I wanted to find something that suits my poodle mutt rescue better. She is allergic to all fowl, grains (rice and gluten) and white potato. This fits the bill. I had no problem transitioning her to eating this and she eliminates less often with less effort. She also itches less. With even high quality, grain free foods, she has skin issues related to foods. This doesn't bother her at all. • Looks like a great product by dogs hated it

My dogs wouldn't touch this stuff until I doctored it with cheese. The food has a slightly unpleasant smell - which I didn't expect given the ingredients. It looks like a high quality food but my dogs turned up their noses and walked away from it.

Much better consistency than other brands we've used. Like the chunky texture. Please add the 6lb bag or give us an autoship deal, pretty please?

  • Delicious !

My extremely picky Weimaraner ate this with gusto ! I have been trying to get her onto a raw diet since she was diagnosed with bone cancer, and have tried 3 different varieties of freeze dried and this is the only one she eats without thinking twice ! I will definitely be purchasing more in the future !

  • Got this as a trial...

I got the smaller bag of Bravo! freeze dried food for my cardigans, lab mix and 15 year old GSD, as a tester on top of the Fromm kibble as a treat. Well... I wish I got the larger bag! It was an instant hit! I knew my guy LOVED the bravo! treats but this was the icing on the cake!! I recommend this for sure! Especially if you have a picky eater!

  • Too many carbs

I like the idea of a balanced mixer, but this is too high in carbs, too many veggies.

  • All Bravo freeze dried dinners are excellent.

My dog loves this food. She has been eating it for 3+ years, she is healthy and active. Also, th e food makes up like beef stew rather than a soupy mush as many other freeze dried meals do.

  • Passed the taste test...

Every dog is different when it comes to what they like and what they don't. My pugs will eat just about anything, so the fact that they gobbled this up doesn't mean your dog will. I don't think rating this based on your dogs' particular taste is overly helpful to the those of us who are/were on the fence about buying this. 6lb bag = 30lbs of hydrated food. Sure helps with storage! Since we dole this out in "cups" it is hard for me to figure out how much in weight they get for each meal, and subsequently how long this lasts for the cost. So, just for my own understanding of cost of feeding, I am marking the bag on the date I started it and we'll see how long it lasts compared to how long the canned Every dog is different when it comes to what they like and what they don't. I like that it is one bag vs. all those cans! It looks great in the bowl. The ingredients look all natural. I think the real test will be to see how the pugs look and feel after I have gone through a bag of this. Coats, eyes, energy, stools, weight, and overall health improvements would make it worth almost any cost. Buy a small bag if you are on the fence, as I was. My only worry about this brand is that it has averaged one recall per year. Not sure I like that track record, but I am trusting Bravo! has made improvements regarding that aspect. … more
